Comments Thread For: Dirrell: Benavidez is Not What Everyone Makes Him Out To Be!

WBC super middleweight champion Anthony "The Dog" Dirrell is not impressed with undefeated challenger David Benavidez. The two boxers were scheduled to face each other in the past, but injuries and other issues forced them in separate directions.

A long as he's not on the ******* Benavidez should win this. But Dirrell can make it a competitive fight.

Funny enough , a whole bunch of us feel the same way about you Anthony
You are not anywhere close to what we thought you were
        Benevidez by ko
I think he stops Dirrell late in the second half
To young and just plain too much for Dirrell to keep off

I like Dirrell, but he withdrew with an "injury" last time Benavidez was his mandatory & didn't enforce his champ-in-recess status until after Benavidez got stripped & got to fight a much less skilled guy in Yildirim for it. Don't think he wanted it the first time around & has no other choice but to fight him this time or dump the belt & basically admit he really was avoiding him. Regardless, he should give Benavidez a real fight & could have a chance to win if he's on his A-game, but with what i've seen from him recently, Benavidez is gonna wipe him out. Too young, too big, too strong, too fast. Should be a good one.

I truly believe Gavril beat Benavidez the 1st fight. No blue chip prospect has to rematch a fighter like Gavril. Benavidez is severely overrated

David will knock out Dirrell late in the fight.

The kid said he had some personal matters outside the ring that affected him & his camp. I felt he took the first fight by a thin margin but he came in 100 for the second fight & laid a beating on Gavril. Kid was only 20, won a world title, & showed how well he can learn & adjust from the first fight to the second fight. Kid is highly talented & still only 22. He's only gonna get better.

Is this the Dirrell that stalled so long on a vacant title bout with Callum Smith, that the big scouser entered the WBSS instead? Or was that his brother, the one that took a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque dive against Uzcategui to con the ref?
Either way, I think Benavidez blasts him out.
