Both guys are shot to chit. 2 past prime 160ers that really have no business fighting at 168 other than the fact that their older.
I'm genuinely worried about Quillin's health. I actually saw the fight as more of a draw but it might be best that Quillin took the L because he'd possibly get seriously hurt If he faced 1 of the top guys at 168. Like Gerald Mcclellan type hurt, all the signs were there that he needs to retire from boxing like tomorrow.Comment

Nah go back further. We saw the cracks in Quillin in the Hassan N'Dam fight. Don't let the scorecard fool you, Quillin scored multiple knockdowns on N'Dam in the beginning and end of the fight but N'Dam outboxed Quillin in all the rounds he wasn't knocked down. I can't recall the Gabe Rosado fight in full but I do remember a lot of people were upset because the fight was ended due to cuts and that Gabe was coming on strong. Peter was never really that good, he had some skill which made me think he should cruise past Angulo but his biggest flaw is his heart and chin.Comment

Yeah, man, that was completely a baffling decision to make then. Were his legs/conditioning not up to par, maybe? At first I was thinking that maybe he thought Angulo was so slow that he would see what was coming and he could stand tough in there with him and he felt that he could get what may be seen as a boring win by basically straight up boxing the Mexican Sandman to pieces, or he could get a memorable victory fighting inside, as the commentary team was mentioning throughout the evening how both fighters were in need of, not only the win, but a statement making win.
If not that then I thought he was maybe attempting conserve energy.Comment

yeah I thought it was funny, cause he was going hard on him for that lil bit lmfao. You hear Mancini get in Marcos Villegas dark side when he was giving his final score for (I think) the Thomas Dulorme fight and he said that Williams/the fight itself, wasn't competetive? Mancini says something like* "not competetive? How many punches have you taken, again?" I smile whenever the fighters commentating put an uppity TV "boxing analyst" in their place.
*much paraphrasing hereComment
