-Arguably beat Ward, officially a loss but at the very least he gave Andre Ward by far the toughest fight of his career.

He beat Hopkins and Pascal back when both were still big names in the division. He was only really missing Stevenson, who blatantly ducked him, and maybe you could say he should have fought Beterbiev. It had less to do with the guys he beat than how he beat them though really, he won all his fights in such dominant and destructive fashion, and Stevenson, the only other guy who was perceived as a threat to his reign, was visibly running scared from him, so it wasn't hard to see who he was considered so highly at the time. It wasn't until the Ward fights that he ever looked anything less than invincible at the weight. I do think the division he ruled over was quite weak in retrospect and Ward exposed a ton of frailties that had gone unnoticed until then, but he was (and arguably still is) a very good fighter.

Then he also boxed and beat down a ton of B rated fighters including big punchers like Yarde, slippery Chilemba,

AND he did a lot of that while abusing his body... something he is not right now.

Kovalev has the BEST resume at LHW today... and far better than any of the other current champions or what Chickenson had.

Kovalev is a beast but I won’t lie for him just like any other fighter that gets busy. If you can fight and you have skills I can appreciate the person. Sometimes business politics and boxing doesn’t give us certain fights but to blame the guy you don’t like personally and praise the guy you relate to is stupid and shows what type of characters you guys have. But it’s expected.
