Kovalev actually started his amateur career as a middleweight at 11 years old.

I'll grant you that he did move up and down in weight divisions after that. But amateur bouts are only 3 rounds so any severe weight draining wouldn't have the same pronounced effect that it would in professional bouts like the ones Canelo was fighting in as a teenager.

Best believe Kovalev is a one punch type of puncher.

I’ve got Krusher winning this fight, with no catchweight or rehydration clause, I can’t see canelo winning this.

If he manages to win, it would be an amazing win, period.
And if he loses, I actually respect him for taking on the challenge.

I just like how some people are making it out like Krusher has been cherrypicked and is just going to fold in half. And now his punching power is being underestimated.

I don't think it will happen because Canelo's defense has improved so much over the years. But not because Kovalev doesn't have the power to do it against a naturally smaller man.
