    How the hell is Canelo going to beat Kovalev?

    Canelo had a razor close fight with Jacobs (who has a glass chin) at 160, and went 12 with a drained Chavez Jr at a catch weight of 164.

    Now he’s suddenly going to 175 and KO Kovalev with no rehydration clause?

    It’ll also be hard to outbox Kovalev since Kovalev is much taller, rangier, has fast feet and can fight going backwards.

    I think Canelo and his team are biting off more than they can chew here.

    They're banking on his formidable body punches and Kovalev's diminished gas tank in the later rounds to eek out a decision (home cooking)

        With a body-shot...

        Kovalev on pts isn’t out the question though.

            Canelo is fighting him without a catchweight or rehydration clause? Wow...cajones on him. How can you not be a fan.

              He picked this fight because;
              -Kovalev is weak to the body. Canelo has body KOs on his record.
              -Kovalev has lost 3 fights in the last 3 years. Canelo has lost none in several years.
              -Kovalev is well past prime. Canelo is prime.
              -Kovalev doesn't have the same speed and power he used to have.

              People are running on this illusion that this is still the Krusher who fought Pascal, Hopkins, Ward, etc. He's still decent but not the fighter he used to be.

                  I've yet to see official confirmation anywhere for the alleged lack of rehydration clause. I've seen one youtube journalist mention it in passing in a brief interview with Egis Kilmas as though it's open knowledge and previously confirmed, but not a single press headline or source of confirmation in writing which would presumably be the basis for his claim. So to whomever it may concern, please, by all means, share. Until then I'm not going to operate under the default assumption lack of such a clause is confirmed. It has been established there will be no catchweight, but those are two distinct things. Considering the incompetence of some of this independent grassroots journalism, I wouldn't be surprised if some people have conflated the two.

                    Just watch. If Canelo decides to move around as he did in GGG vs Canelo 1, like SRL vs Hagler, they’ll just say Canelo didn’t do anything and had the judges, all while still having the better connect rate than Kovalev.
