I was really rooting for him to have success and get a chance to represent at the Olympic games, now as a result of the loss he might not go that way, I hope he learns from it but that was a really bad loss optically

Keyshawn Davis getting another opportunity at Andy Cruz look forward to see what type of adjustments he makes. Solid Rivalry their building both are gifted young fighters with amazing natural abilities
Russia has very strong teams this year for sure

Anyone catch the Julio La Cruz semi agaisnt the Kazakh? Was a close one but seems like a fair decision to me.
Here's the isolated fight incase anyone wants to catch it without scanning through the whole event.

Buatsi is more of a stalker type, but has very good form and of course a very good puncher. As far as Davis he looks very good from what I have seen. He is fast and has very tight technique, but yea he has a tough opponent who did beat him in the PA games although I think it was a MD or SD. It also rings a bell that he lost to him again in a duel meet I think, but that also was very close if I remember. Hopefully he can get the win this time, because he is all we have left after Torrez got KOed by a pro.
I’ll definitely check Davis out today, I’ve watched Andy Cruz before and he’s a very good fighter, fast hands and a typically highly technical Cuban style. There’s no shame in losing to these Cuban guys though, especially considering the difference in experience. To be able to mix it with that calibration of fighter at only 20 years old is a promising sign of things to come. I hope Davis pulls it off though...

Alvarez’s experience was the key factor, he managed the clock very well, throwing flurries of punches in the last 30 seconds which is probably what won him rounds 2 and 3. It’s good experience again for McGrail though, that’s two Bronze’s at the worlds along with a Gold and Bronze at the Europeans and a Commonwealth Gold, so that should stand him in good stead for Tokyo, were hopefully he’ll be able to box at Bantamweight instead of Featherweight also.

Cruz won for sure but I had it 3-2 Andy, no way that was 5-0 all Andy...
Look, you're likely never going to get a Decision over the Cubans by trying to out-box them it is not going to happen, you have to let your hands fly and out-work them to get a win over them
Their Styles Mirror each other, very similar styles and very similar athleticism, Quickness, Slickness and everything. Big fan of Davis, I think he is a special fighter and will be even better as a pro. Andy is just a bit more seasoned right now and he knows how to steal Rounds especially in the last 30 Seconds of the round, leaving that lasting impression on the judges
These 2 for sure will meet again at the Olympics next year and for Davis to get him, he is going to have to let his hands fly a lot more
