Spence isn't fighting Crawford he's moving up, and when he does I EXPECT you to admit he ducked Crawford.

I hope he realizes Manny wont ever fight him. He should have understood that when Manny tried to sneak out the ring.Comment

[QUOTE=Verus;20067359]I must confess that my interest in boxing goes way way back. The first fight I remember was when I was in 4th grade, Kid Gavilan vs. Chuck Davey. Yes, I am an old guy. But more to your point, I also objected to Arum "marinating" fights -- I believe he coined the phrase. More importantly, the fact someone else has committed a transgression is not a legitimate excuse. "Hey officer you can't give me a speeding ticket, some other guys were speeding here last week." You see my point of course.

Yes I do see your point and agree with you.
That said, the constant or X factor in Crawford vs Spence NOT happening is still the senile piece of shïīt Arum.
At 87 years old with a massive fortune he’s still afraid of putting his fighters against legit threats.
Back to the fight, I like Crawford and love his switcharoo style. Clearly, he’s gotten much faster and better at 147 but I don’t think he beats Spence. Most boxers (and promoters) know each other and understand boxing well enough to know who they can or cannot beat and how to avoid certain fighters.
Like you I go way back and the best example I can give you is Oscar vs Tito.
Oscar and Mayweather Sr were scared of Tito despite the fact that Oscar was a million light years better than Tito could ever dream to be.
That’s why Oscar on the advice of Mayweather Sr ran the last 4 rounds. He literally ran away from Tito. And the fool calls Floyd a runner. Oscar is a freaking hypocrite but I digress.
Oscar could have destroyed Tito. Those four rounds would have been what Hopkins did to Tito in 2001 but he ran. So that just tells you something about the choices boxers make.
Another point, Cotto refused to fight Floyd in 2005 when Floyd moved up to 140. This is something Cotto acknowledged during the promotion of his fight with Floyd @ 154.
Hatton too refused to fight Floyd at 140.
How in the world do two undefeated beltholders at 140 refuse to fight a guy that’s coming up in weight?
I just get amused when idiots say Floyd ducked Cotto or beat Hatton at 147 because he was the “bigger” guy. How?Comment

In case you haven't noticed, there is no PBC fighter, in any weight class, that is holding the WBO belt.
On the other hand, PBC fighters always get a shot to fight for the IBF, WBA, and WBC belts. Currently at weltwerweight all of those belts are held by PBC fighters, same at 154.Comment
