Comments Thread For: Errol Spence: I Knew If I Couldn't Get Pacquiao, I'd Get Porter

Unbeaten 147-pound titlist Errol Spence Jr. doesn't make it a point to call out other boxers but had no problem making his thoughts known that he craved a superfight with boxing's only-ever eight-division titlist. That clash could very well come one day, but not before Spence first collides with Shawn Porter. Their Sept. 28 welterweight title unification bout headlines a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View event, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

As long as Arum is involved, there is no need to avoid Crawford.

So bizarre how all these pbc guys go about their business like Crawford dont exist, they dont mention his name, they dont recognize him as another champ in their division when they talk about unifying titles, just because he with a different promoter, the best have always called out the best...but they act like Crawford dont exist and he is likely the best of them all....so weird.

Why would they promote another fighter? Mentioning another fighter's name does just that.

They know he exist but they know these fights are easier. Do you think ESPN is gonna let Crawford fight on Showtime?? And vise versa.. this isn’t a May/ Pac level fight.

How far does your boxing history go? I am not knocking on you but if you don’t know about Arum and his fighters then you’d never write what you just wrote.
Do you remember Gamboa and JuanMa?
How about PAC from 2010 to 2014? Look at the opponents PAC fought before finally facing Floyd. And then 2015 up until 2019

Exactly, and don't forget about the Wilder vs Fury rematch.

He isn't avoiding Crawford. He has never recieved a single offer to fight Crawford. Is he supposed to fight Crawford for free? Spence fights champions while Crawford fights Khan and next some guy nobody ever heard of.

I must confess that my interest in boxing goes way way back. The first fight I remember was when I was in 4th grade, Kid Gavilan vs. Chuck Davey. Yes, I am an old guy. But more to your point, I also objected to Arum "marinating" fights -- I believe he coined the phrase. More importantly, the fact someone else has committed a transgression is not a legitimate excuse. "Hey officer you can't give me a speeding ticket, some other guys were speeding here last week." You see my point of course.
