Idk why some people are saying Fury was exposed. The guy showed championship level grit by fighting through adversity. Imagine having a nasty gash in the middle of a real fight. You're losing blood and wondering if you could potentially pass out or if the referee is going to stop the fight. It's a scary situation to be in. Two things here. 1) Fury underestimated Wallin to a certain extent in my opinion. 2) the cut did not help out whatsoever. Wallin should be commended for his performance because he didn't let others opinions get to him. He came to fight. In a couple years, with some more experience and conditioning, and the same hunger he had against Fury, he's going to be a threat in my opinion. Fury on the other hand gets more experience, and elevates his game. He knows now what it's like to fight through the adversity of a bad cut. This performance makes him better honestly.

The cut seems to affect the way people see the fight. Forget the cut and just watch it as normal and Fury, despite being nowhere near his best, in my opinion due to not being fully motivated at the start and having two horrific cuts, dominated the fight.

Wallin showed himself to be a good boxer though, and I'm interested to see who he fights next. I think someone like Carlos Takam would be a good indicator. Can he beat Takam? I don't know. There's a massive difference in being able to be competitive against a quality opponent, to being able to beat one.

Classic example to this would be Hughie Fury's fights vs Pulev and Povetkin. poor article by a very poor writer.
        ...I mostly agree with you.

Yes, I was impressed by Fury`s power shots. Wallin took them very well, he has a hell of a chin.

Fury doesn't have the one punch KO power of a Wilder or Joshua, but he has stopped tough men like Chisora and Hammer without ever needing to sit down on his shots and get his whole weight behind them.

He was really sitting down on his punches against Wallin, like I've never seen him do before, and Wallin ate them all and kept firing back.

David Price would most probably stop Ottin Wallin inside 6 rounds. Tyson Fury got the win, but by no means was this the type of performance HIM and his team wanted. He has sustained a extremely bad cut, and was unable to dominant a fighter who people deemed not worthy to be inside of the ring with him.

I personally think Ottin Wallin looked to be a solid fighter, but we cannot fully judge him entirely on that performance. 'Because during the aftermath of this fight, people are making excuses for Fury's performance' I would like to see Wallin face guys such as Chisora, Parker, Whyte, Price to see how he fairs against them.

Note: I just think that stylistically, David Price vs Ottin Wallin is a smart fight to make for David Price. It is winnable, and it would looked good on his CV blasting out a fighter who went 12 rounds with Tyson Fury '12 competitive rounds, not at any stage was Wallin dominated'.

I couldn't agree more. Apart from possible long term damage from the cut, that was exactly the kind of fight Fury needed. And it was exciting .. a real body blow to the "yawn... Fury's fights are boring" brigade.

Fury won a tougher than expected fight which IMO is what champions do. He got cut and kept the pace up, taking rounds and controlling the fight. He deserves credit for that.

You also wonder why he couldn't beat a 30-1 underdog easier. Wallin is trash and didn't show he was anything else in this fight. Fury seemed to fight down to his level as if he thought this would be an easy win.

Fury won and now if Wilder handles his end we get the fight we want February 22nd.

Fury isn’t ready for a better prepared Wilder who won’t underestimate Fury this time around and will actually work instead of actively looking for the knockout![/
