The Heavyweight division is scamming us ALL

Stop putting heavyweights on a pedestal. Im sick of people saying "there's boxing and then there's Heavyweight boxing". That statement is trash, and is no longer true. might have held truth back in 1940s. The current Heavyweights are trash. not only that, but they no longer hold the title "baddest men" on the planet those belong to MMA HW fighters now. I can't believe Trash guys Like Fury, Wilder, Joshua are being paid 100 + million and they still act like a bunch of divas when in reality they only about as skillful and technical as rod Salka.

Hmmm. Aight there's some truth to all that. It's not what it used to be. HW's do still have the most potential to attract fans though..

I agree, HWs are used to try and attract those fringe fans. U don’t have to know anything about boxing to be attracted to two giant guys fighting each other. Rarely do u see the most in shape guys or skill, but ur supposed to be seeing the hardest punches and that’s all some people want to see. I think we end up seeing a lot of garbage at heavyweight and sum real sloppy fights, mismatches. It will always be the most overrated yet pushed division.

The reason this HW era is getting so much attention and hype is because the last was so boring and predictable and it lasted for over a decade. The Klits were good fighters but had zero personality and the fights were one dimensional shut outs in the main wheras for the mid to late 80's for example; when Tyson was fighting in a similar poor era at least he brought excitement and intrigue with the way he went about winning.

ATEOTD HW boxing is the division that attracts the masses so it's great there is now loads of top match ups to be made over the next few years with boxers offering different styles and all of them have flaws which adds to the intrigue.

Honestly the 40s was dominated by Joe Louis not the greatest era of heavyweight you mean 70s and 90s.

Anyways the heavy division is lacking a bit in some skill areas but we finally have excitment again the fact that all have flaws and could lose to each other brings fun vs the Klit era where 2 guys were high above the rest dominated but in a very boring fashion.

The fact Aj could get ko'ed again brings excitement rather than seeing a Vitali Johnson type beat down with 0 personality into the fight.

I was with your sentiment until you mentioned MMA heavyweights.

Meanwhile, the most lucrative active boxer is a middleweight moving up to 175 soon. You sound like one of those casuals yourself.
