Maybe he doesn't have enough skill to?

Oh yea, and then there was that guy named Robinson...

Name me a better punch than Robinson's uppercut.
I get all of that! Thomas Hearns and Sugar Ray Robinson were aberrations to the norm.

Tall, lean fighters who fight at mid to long range very rarely throw body punches because they are typically not in position to throw them. They usually have longer arms; Which means they would need more distance and space to land their shots and also to get more leverage on their power punches.

However, for the most part; Short, stocky guys with shorter arms typically go to the body more because it's easier due to their builds. They are forced to fight on the inside and at short range due to the lack of height and reach.

He body punched just fine with Duhaupas tbh, but it's definitely a style thing.

You get a guy that big, that long, and make him heavy handed, you mold with the tools that he has.

Work the jab, placing the right hand, using that lead hook to deal damage and clear space, work to learn how to best use punching range, work on being defensively aware.

As you get the basics down, you add the extra stuff in (learning where/when to throw that uppercut, walking guys onto shots, body punching when it makes sense, etc).

Breland's basically had a decade to get Wilder as far as his gifts will take him, and he's still got a ways to go.

Beyond that, look at Breland's career; he knew how to body punch just fine, but being a 6'2 welterweight, just sitting there, digging to the body, wouldn't have made much sense for his skillset

Wilder has 40 kos and at least knockdown in all of his fights. Sloppy technique, still was able to medal with 3 years of experience. We're looking at something totally different here. No need for him to get in the line of fire anyways, given how long spry and mobile he is.

You just want to see him knocked out.

Because he hasn't mastered the basics. If he focused on improving his job he would be a far more dangerous fighter

Because he's a skill-less bum who isn't technically capable of mounting an effective body attack.

I agree to have a skill set in going to the body. It would open more the head shots especially with power like that. But they know that Wilder's strength is at a distance. Body blows also helps with the inside fighting. To his credit he does jab to the body at a long distance away.

I think his better performance was the first stiverne fight, he actually box when he realise he couldn’t stop him. He mixed his punches and use variety. Since then he has been head hunting and telegraphing his punches.
