I reckon it will delay the rematch by at least a couple of months. It was as deep a cut as I've seen since Linares retired Kevin Mitchell. He needs look no further than his own cousin for what happens to a deep cut when you fight too soon afterwards. Pulev wasted no time in ripping open that fresh scar, and the fight was pretty much decided from there.
Haymon will use this as an excuse to finally set up the undisputed fight with winner of Ruiz-Joshua.
