I like the idea of Loma fighting the Commey vs. Lopez winner for the "undisputed," but the long wait is killing the enthusiasm! Commey vs. Beltran was unnecessary!
It pushed everything backwards! If he was ready for Ray, he should've been ready for Lopez!

I don't like Haney doing all this talking when he knows Arum has plans for Loma! Hearn can't complain about Arum because Loma has already beat Crolla and Campbell! I think Hearn should go into his own bag for Haney, and I think Tevin Farmer should be the man! He doesn't have a big fight: No Tank, No Jo Jo Diaz, so why not go up and fight Haney? It would also be good for Haney because Farmer is a slick southpaw, he has a longer reach than Lomachenko, and he hasn't loss in 7 years! Haney is the fight Farmer needs, and Farmer is the test Haney needs! MAN UP!

Here is the thing these scenarios are always a win win for the Challenger

Haney looses now, it will be widely acknowledged that it was too early, and a great learning experience.

For Lomachenko to win he will get no credit for the very same reason.

Keep calling out Loma get your name in the press.

After following boxing for two decades now I accept that pro boxing is simply a business first and nothing else.

All I can do is sit on the sidelines and hope for good fights to take place.

The rest is just a waste of time.

That would set him up in prime position to call for Lomachenko after he unifies with the Commey-Lopez winner.
Why didn't Luke Campbell have to take a tougher opponent first? He had two losses and never really beat anyone yet still got the Lomachenko fight.

Haney is undefeated and the mandatory to the WBC belt. That's good enough, let's get that fight now before Lomachenko moves down in weight.

Quit breaking our balls Bob. You are copping out. The fact is you would rather duck him because he is too good and a threat to "The Matrix"
To be fair - I would say that Stevenson's ability to time would cause more problems for Loma than Haney's power.

Power only means something if you can hit the target - and I'm not sure Haney could. Might, but I'm not sure based on what I've seen of him.

The whole weight class thing might actually work in Stevenson's favor. Loma wasn't anywhere near as fast when he went up vs. when he was lower. And we're not dealing with a Rigo situation; Shakur will throw.

There's no question that Shakur Stevenson's southpaw stance would pose problems for the "Matrix"; As evident in his fight against Luke Campbell. However, Haney has more power, better and quicker movement in both his hands, head and feet than Campbell. '

Also, keep in mind that Loma is one dimensional. He is strictly an offensive fighter who rarely moves his head. Moreover, he gets hit way too often for a slick boxer.

If a naturally wider, slower and stronger opponent in Luke Campbell can locate, find and even hurt Lomacheko on multiple occasions then I don't see no reason why Devin Haney couldn't do the same; Who is at least 10x faster than Campbell.

Arum ain't no fool. He knows what he is doing. He don't want no smoke from Devin Haney at this time after witnessing what Matchroom's other lightweight Luke Campbell did to Loma

Is Haney sure he should want that smoke just yet, don't get me wrong I'm already a fan this kid has got future p4p written all over him. But although it's exciting the speed of Haneys rise he's still got a bit to learn and it's mostly stuff you gain in the ring rising through the ranks and it's stuff your going to of learnt by the time you face people as good as lomachenko.

I think it's too soon but Haney and his dad clearly don't agree. If it got made I'd be excited for it, If it doesn't then its still some good publicity for Haney.

                    Nervous

Some nervous fans on this thread building a wall of excuses for their boy. I would bet if the shoe was on the other foot, Haney an established stud and champ and a young Loma budding into a star, these same fans would be yelling at the rooftops for the fight.....how dare a young hungry competitor call out the champ when he's only a mandatory. Just doesnt make sense now does. Fans talk about fighters taking risks unless it's a threat to their boy. Nervous?

Campbell did, he fought Linares and lost a SD. He was also an Olympic gold medalist. He was more experienced and had a better amateur pedigree. But most importantly he was the #1 contender with the WBC when Mikey vacated which meant Lomachenko had to fight him if he wanted the WBC belt.

I have no problem with Lomachenko-Haney in December/January, but from a risk/reward standpoint, it doesn't make sense to me. From the risk: We saw Lomachenko struggle with Campbell's size and Haney is the same size, plus faster and stronger. From the reward: Haney is 20 yrs old and hasn't fought a soul.

I think the time for this fight is the summer/fall 2020 after Lomachenko unifies with the Commey-Lopez winner as at that point he'll have all the belts and Haney will be his first mandatory. I'd like to see Eddie match Haney a little tougher than Moran or Abdullaev in the meantime. We've seen him look spectacular against that level opponent. Let's see what he looks like against the next tier.
