Honestly, do posters lie or simply many have no idea or real world physiques and weights? If GGG once upon a time said he’d fight Bhop at 175 or Duva saying Kova vs GGg could only be at 175 or Anel Sanchez saying “in the future - 175 yes.” What does a future translate to infighting at LHW considering GGG’s general age? Was Sanchez trolling?
I think Sanchez just doing his job and selling tickets. Usually what he was saying was completely different to what his fighter was saying.

As I recall Golovkin said he wanted to campaign at 160 but left the door open to one off spectacles (ala Hopkins) while Sanchez was talking about him ripping through divisions ala Pacquaio. Which wouldn't work because he apparently doesn't cut much for 160.

The following is a resource page for all the publicly issued "rehydration" weights of the sub-heavyweight boxing divisions. Please, bo...

Those soundbytes date all the way back to 2012. You guys need to stop being naive. A professional can give high expectations and deliver but cutting 15lbs of water and looking bigger than Canelo on fight night... yeah... “GGG is a small Middleweight.”

You guys took things out of context. Abel tricked industry in only saying he could deliver the weigh ins, not that he was a “small Middleweight.” Was Loeffler and Abel referring to HBO allowing JCC Jr. cut 20lbs+ of water and IVs so they could boost subs? Non regulated sport innit, under Top Rank too innit.

              Good point.

People are confused. You cant control what a fighter weighs IN THE RING. That would be disastrous and risky business. That’s why we have morning weigh in limits.

Industry knows the general or average calculation of rehydration all the way to when stepping in the ring, more or less.

If there’s a rehydration limit for Kovalev vs Canelo, “this 5lb thing,” then it means Kovalev can’t be more than 180lbs the morning of. That’s all it means. Kovalev can rehydrate as much as he needs to the final hours.

This is 5lbs water weight more or less. If it were a catchweight, it would be a completely different scenario of water and Kovalev shredding muscle mass this month.

Ok, I had read a report that the fight was at 170, but apparently that was wrong.

Never saw the soundbites (I haven't read a front page gossip article here in 5 years). Just looks like a small to medium sized MW. I don't see the Kovalev comparison. Kov is big for his division and GGG is average or small for his.

Is he trolling?? LOL.. He's prone to exaggeration. He once sat down and told Golovkin that if he sticks with his (Sanchez) program he will be greater than Ali. I'm a fan of Golovkin but that is a big exaggeration.
