Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: I Would Agree To Fight Jarrell Miller Again

NEW YORK Anthony Joshua isn't holding a grudge against Jarrell Miller. Even though Miller's performance-enhancing drug ordeal led Joshua into his ill-fated fight with replacement Andy Ruiz Jr., Joshua would agree to box Miller again. Joshua was asked about granting the besmirched Miller a second chance during the recent three-day, three-country press tour to promote his heavyweight championship rematch versus Ruiz.

Well those odds certainly won't hold up by fight night.

Nobody wanted to see that fight in first place. Hearn's mucking around cost Joshua.

Anyone rated in the Ring top 10 would've done as an opponent, but Hearn opted for a big-mouth blob from Brooklyn to sell a mismatch.

He failed a drugs test so Hearn opted for another blob from Southern California, except this blob could fight and he lost everything.

Promoters should stop trying to be clever and make honest match-ups.

I think Miller needs to be 100% clean for at least a full year. I would be courious if he can still go without the help of drugs. Then I would like to see him fight Ortiz or Parker before he gets a title shot., or Joshua if he looses the Ruiz rematch.

                  September 10, 2019:

Jarrell Miller, Top Rank “in advanced negotiations” for “multi-fight deal”

It looks as though heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller will land on his feet after testing positive for just a whole heap of drugs earlier this year, scuttling a career-high payday against Anthony Joshua in the process. The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger reports that “Big Baby” is “in advanced negotiations with Top Rank on a multi-fight deal.”

Perhaps it’s a reward for causing Joshua-Ruiz and the subsequent anguish to Matchroom.

The reason for this is straightforward, as Coppinger points out: Top Rank spent a lot to acquire Tyson Fury’s services and have nobody to pit him against besides “free agents” like Deontay Wilder. Plus, Fury had a doping suspension of his own, albeit for a far less comical quantity of substances, so it’s not like Miller (23-0-1. 20 KO) represents an ethical lapse or anything.

If he fights clean moving forward why can't he make his money? I won't condemn the man. I won't support him by watching his fights, but hey...I won't blame anyone for making money off of him while putting money in his pockets. He didn't kill a baby or anything.
