How is their similarities? Canelo is moving up 2 divisions to fight a champ and one of the biggest punchers in the sport. Pacquiao fought someone in his own division.

Kovalev was one of the biggest punchers in the sport. Not is. Was.

And Canelo isnt barely moving up anything. For a guy who his own fans claim falsely as a small MW fighting at 175 is pretty hilarious.

Canelo said himself like a year ago that 175 is too high for him, but all of a sudden it isnt? I wonder why?

And for a guy who has fought at super middleweight twice it's not really jumping 2 classes now is it?

Not to mention all the 160-168 guys and probably everyone at 175 has better odds against Canelo and why would the odd makers lie? They're in the business to make money after all.

Canelos walk around weight is probably even heavier than Kovalevs so I dont get the size comparison talk. Canelo is shorter but much thicker. Hes build thick like shawn porter at Welterweight.

Some of the details havent been release for this fight but if Jacob's got hit by a rehydration clause then I would have serious questions to as why Kovalev wouldn't have one.

For anyone who isnt a Canelo fan it's pretty su****ious but it's pretty much just proof that Canelo has just been a weight bully most of his career. Hes no different than someone like spence.

Maybe his stamina is **** because he kills himself to make weight. Maybe the mass he puts on will kill his gas tank even more. To me this is just a publicity stunt. Its no different than Mikey Garcia and Spence.

All the while Lara just circled against the ropes all night throwing a occasional 1, 2. Canelo was the aggressor, landed the harder, more telling punches, and showed ring generalship despite Lara running all night. Lara did not once show any motivation that he wanted to win that night. It was a easy UD from Canelo. Only those jealous of Canelo think Lara won.

Kovalev fought legends like ward and hopkins. Young guns like Alvarez and yarde

Golovkin fought legends like rolls and vanes. Young guns like brook and rubio

I don't know that Kov is better than GGG, especially not now at age 36. Whether he is or not isn't the point of the post. My point is the 3rd GGG fight or a Charlo fight wouldn't have Canelo as such a huge favorite.

As such, those fights, even though they are at MW, would do more to determine his greatness IMO than defeating Kov.
