When he fights BJS or Andrade, yes. Skilled fighters expose his deficiences (and there aren't many). Floyd, Lara etc. But objectively, he has already earned his position as a pfp great.

Jumping divisions to fight the best is too much to ask for any fighter. Kovalev is a jump to a fighter not in his prime. But it is still a jump and should be applauded.

I understand your point in theory but Canelo is a huge favorite so it is hard to classify this as "daring to be great".

I think it would be tougher to fight someone lighter where the odds are closer to 50/50 than it is a heavier guy with these type of odds.

In other words-fighting Charlo or GGG would be closer to "daring to be great" than fighting Kovalev.

Gotta give respect to Canelo for his selection of opponents. My only problem with him is that he doesn’t separate himself from his opponents in the ring making it hard for me to accept he is truly #1.

If he is #1, where do we rate his opponents that have close/competitive fights with him?

The truth, Canelo got skills but he’s lost almost big fight he’s had. Kinda reminds of Miguel Cotto, every time stepped up he lost. Canelo got handed the Lara fight.....judge Levi Martinez 117-111 haha FOH.

Canelo is already up 4 rounds before the opening bell has rung

If the diva wanted to be great
he'd show he can dominate or stop GGG.

GGG still has nobody on his resume.

2 of his last 3 opponents are rolls and vanes

He is desperate for a Canelo payday.

                    Canelo already beat GGG tho.

                    Kovalev > GGG

                    Resume proves this.

Kovalev fought legends like ward and hopkins. Young guns like Alvarez and yarde

Golovkin fought legends like rolls and vanes. Young guns like brook and rubio
