DAZN just hired Pat McAfee to do a daily talk show on the platform.

Anyone have an opinion on whether they should use him as a colour commentator for boxing matches?

One of the better people on the mic in the business. I think ESPN just hired him for NCAAF. But his focus is football and WWE -- not boxing as far as I'm aware.

His show isn't about boxing per se. It's about anything he wants to talk about in sports. He had a show recently where he interviewed Aaron Rogers...it was very amatuerish...the Skype link kept failing.

He's the kind of guy when as a kid he was put on drugs to slow him down. He's definitely ADD. Funny sometimes, but really annoying most of the time. And it's a 2 hour show.

I cannot understand why networks continue to insult boxing fans by using ignorant commentators.

In no other sports do networks regularly assign people with no knowledge of a sport to be a broadcaster for that sport. But in boxing we regularly get announcers who can barely pronounce guys names, let alone recite basic rules.

So no, we don't need another boxing announcer who doesn't know boxing.
