How does it suck for Kovalev? He's nearing the end of his career. A loss to Canelo doesn't make a fight against the Beterbiev/Gdvzoyk winner appealing & his value drops. So DAZN has to foot the bill for the remaining fights in his career. If he wins he goes back to ESPN for a big fight against the winner of the other LHW's. This is a win-win for Kovalev. I'm actually surprised DAZN agreed to this. How does this benefit them?

It benefits Main Events if Kovalev loses because they'll have some cards on DAZN.

Those people at DAZN have no idea wtf they're doing

I guarantee you Canelo has a mandatory rematch clause if he loses and Canelo-Kovalev II would be on dazn not espn.

If you just think about it, from a logical standpoint, it would be gross negligence for dazn not to include a rematch clause to protect their cash cow in case something flukey happens. Anyone with two brain cells could deduce this.

Grandpa Bob is either suffering from demetia or the talking out of his azz. Piss poor reporting job by the writer.

Are you that dense? Canelo started his career at 140 lbs, he grew as he aged, what's there to be confused about? the question is GGG has been a middleweight his entire career feasting on tomato cans and super welterweights his for over a decade.

Usually rematch clauses are only for the champion, although in this case Kov probably doesn’t have one as he’s the B side and isn’t able to dictate terms.
He’s getting life changing money as he’s on his way out of the game.
If Canelo loses I’m sure they would have no problem negotiating a rematch if both sides want it for another big payday despite what Uncle Bob thinks.
