I wish more fighters would cherrypick opponents from the top 5

I wish that after 43 fights Wilder could of picked a few more too. But to be fair its a good fight, Ortiz is 50 and looks about shot now but Wilder cant Box so any fight with Wilder against anybody of any level is a 50-50 fight so should be entertaining.

Just need Wilder to get those PEDS cycled off then the fight can be signed up and confirmed. They been talking this fight for about 5 months and it STILL isnt signed off, this has been a thing in Wilder fights for a while now. Highly su****ious and i reckon he is definitely on the PEDS like his brother.

Once a guy reaches a certain level, only guys on his level will be worth fighting. There just aren't that many legit HWs.

Fighting just to get checks would get a guy lambasted for sure.

lol m8, nice attempt at rewriting history but noboy is gonna fall for it. Ortiz is legit dangerous - that was the narrative for a long time before the first Wilder fight and it was the narrative after the fight too - he had Wilder hurt.

The fact he is rematching someone so dangerous and not particularly well known is the opposite of a cherrypick, it's a dangerous fight to take and Ortiz would beat Schawrz, Wallin, Seferi and that Italian that Fury fought on the same night. There's a reason all the big names in the HW division have avoided Ortiz, Wilder gets all the credit for this, comparing him to Wallin is laughable because you ain't fooling anyone.

Ortiz was getting hit with clean right hands from Hammer. Got KOd by Wilder. Knocked down like what? 4 times...He is 40 y/o now (probably older). The fight is not a great one, but it's better than Wallin I'll give you that lol

It’s actually a great fight. It however doesn’t excuse or change the fact that Wilder was assisted in their first fight. Ortiz might be old but he has a good ring IQ. So am not fuss about it.

                :
                Fury
                Wilder
                AJ
                Ruiz

Ortiz just doesn’t have the resume to be calling him a top 5 HW. And that’s the honest truth.

Agreed. Same with drugger Whyte who is usually overrated.

It's an ok fight, Ortiz has looked poor recently, but Wilder wanted the Fury rematch, this is not his plan A.

AJ and Ruiz are busy, so no top contenders are being passed over.
