People hate on Ortiz because he's older than people expect one to be competitive but I stay reminding people that with today's sport science and nutrition knowledge the idea that fighter falls off in his early 30s is antiquated. Yes, wars reduce your lifespan, but be responsible with your nutrition, health, and lifestyle and you can box for a long time, but I digress. The reality is that no one has had their way with Ortiz. The Wilder fight could have easily gone the other way.
Ortiz is a slick, high ring IQ southpaw that is crafty, and knows how to take advantage of weaknesses and has an educated jab. I would argue only Fury has the potential to dominate him, and I actually think that is a really close fight. Ortiz might be Fury biggest threat unless Usyk proves to be a contender, Fury switching southpaw won't affect Ortiz, and they both have elite ring IQ, it would be a chess match, but a phone booth chess match.Comment

Got better things to do than go through any of the trash you post. Again you can't accept facts. If Wilder KO'd everybody he'd have 100% KO ratio? Does he? Nope. Therefore it's a lie and you are too dumb to grasp that basic fact. Go ahead and keep responding while looking like a fool who can't accept a simple fact. You are a joke and not worth anymore of my time.

I would take that study with a pinch of salt. I dont have high blood pressure, but i have white coat syndrome, and the study explains thats likely what they're seeing here. Its possible you have American Football players with high blood pressure due to their mass, but in boxing it would definitely have consequences, in any cardio sport it does. The higher the blood pressure the more inefficient the cardiovascular system, this is basic medical knowledge, the left ventricle becomes stiifer and the cardiac output suffers. Theres no way Ortiz matches up to a young guy like Riiz, who has easily done 12 at a fast pace. The only reason i brought up Sconiers is because you're using the logic of Wlad unable to floor Jennings but able to floor AJ as being somewhat meaningful in context to a Wilder Ruiz fight. Same thing Allen going to points with Whyte and the distance with Ortiz. It means nothing. Hatton went ten with Floyd and two with Manny, it didn't prove who the better fighter was. Ortiz looked awful with Scott, and lumbering and slow with Dave "i train at fitness first Allen", the same guy who just made Price look like Ali. Look, we can debate who would win all day, theres just nothing to suggest Wilder can stop Ruiz in one, and no one on Wilders record who was a young, fast handed good puncher like Ruiz. You talk as if Wilder is superman. He didnt look it with Ortiz or Fury. He can be hurt, he can certainly be hit, and has been by much lower level men than Ruiz. Ruiz has showed he can hang with good heavyweight punchers who dont have cardiovascular problems. Widler hasnt. Wilder has looked disorganised under fire by much slower men who cant mantain the pressure for long. So who knows how he does here?
Ortiz doesn't go 12 because he knocks almost everybody out. Idk what you want Ortiz to do when Scott, Allen, Hammer, etc. All fight in survival mode against him. Allen for example fought going forward vs Price allowing himself to be hit. Scott threw about 10 punches a round vs Ortiz, vs Chisora he threw around 30. There is context to these fights.
Wilder-Sconiers is irrelevant because Wilder is an entirely different fighter, nobody has progressed as much as him aside of Fury in that time. Wlad was even better when he fought BJ 2 years earlier, before Fury even.
Wilder's defense is legit, the only man
consistently hit him have been Ortiz & Fury. Ruiz has T-Rex arms, able to take advantage of Ajs horrible defense. Ruiz doesn't have Ortiz's counter punching straights or overhands, he's more of an inside left hook type guy. Wilder eats those stationary types of guys alive.Comment

People often have high blood pressure with no symptoms, read the article. Ortiz is an athlete, I doubt he lets it get out of control.

Well the thing is Ortiz is on medication for it. It had effects, the treatment and the disease. But regardless, im looking at the energy levels. Ortiz looked slower paced and tired in the fights pre Wilder. Hes got skills and had hes moments, but he couldn't sustain it. Ruiz is deceiving, he knows how to get inside. Hes got very fast hands, and throws good combinations. I think Wilder looks disorganised im defence at times. The only reason i mentioned Sconiers is to say everyone is vulnerable, i think Ruiz could land on and hurt Deontay. We know Ruiz can hold a shot, although anyone can go. I think people underestimate Ruiz skills, and hes bodywork is almost never talked about. Wilder does well against stationary types you're right, but weve never seen him fight anyone with Ruizs handspeed, combined with durability and youth. Hes not Breazele. Hes not a fat Stiverne. He's not going out in a round, or easily. Id bet the house on it.
If you want to bring up his HBP, then you have to acknowledge Wilder at 212lbs wasn't 100% either. Since then he's gained 10lbs, significantly more healthy.
Ruiz is a sitting duck, he doesn't hit as hard as Ortiz or Stiverne, his power is more like Fury's. He didn't magically become some new fighter after the JP bout, good fighter but not able to beat a Wilder. Wilder is way more durable than AJ, much better cardio, much better defense, jab, etc.Comment
