What a terrible article. What did their first fight do for boxing? Gave Ryan Garcia a new fanbase? These people have the attention span of toddlers and at best they will watch some knockout highlights of someone on YouTube and say they can beat someone 5 weight classes above them cause they don't even understand basic things like weight divisions.

I don't like seeing boxing used as a crutch to prop up the egos of 2 youtubers. Jim Lampley often said that you don't play at boxing and playing at boxing is exactly what these two guys are doing.

So-called hardcore boxing fans spend so much time dumping on fighters that casuals start tuning them out. You can't get excited about any fighter without a huge number of "fans" telling you how ****** you are for daring to cheer for them.
The result is... well... this. Good fights/fighters get hated on almost equally to bad ones.

No Thanks........if I should embrace this then just lets have all youtubers and instagramers skip the line....forget the years of blood, sweat, and tears boxers go through.....if you have over a million followers then you're qualified to have boxing sites put your fight center stage as if you were Pac vs Mayweather----SMH

If they don't fight for at least 10 rounds in the main event then this is pure unadulterated trash. I want to see one of these YouTube kiddies get hurt.

This gimmick, circus show of a fight is a double edged sword for the reputation and reach of pro boxing. On one hand, if it brings more fans and exposure to boxing and the legitimate professionals who make up the sport that is a good thing but on the other hand, the bulk of people who are buying tickets/ppv for the main event are not boxing fans and don't have a clue about the sport which makes a mockery of the pro game. How many youtubers who tune in for this farce of a main event will actually become lifelong fans? My guess is very few. Any promotion is good promotion I guess but what other pro sport would even entertain such a fiasco? Only in boxing.
