I told you guys Lacy wouldn't be the same fighter. Maybe he already knows it without stepping in the ring again. I would probably pick him to beat Green, but if Lacy doesn't even think he can win, then that sways the betting quite a bit, I'd say.

Im not comparing them two, but Tito was knocked down by Stephens(not a KO puncher), Carr was not a tremendous puncher, Reid was not a KO puncher, and there were others, some who were GREAT punchers, others who were not. But in Tito's case, it was due to him being cold in the ring, as most of his KD came in the 2nd round.Originally posted by ElbichograndeMacho, do not even put Tito in the same text as Green. Tito was floored by heavy hitters, not no pushovers. And tito unlike (doesn't deserve to be mentioned, ended all of their careers. Name one guy who couldn't hit that floored Tito. All of them had a good if not great ko recordComment

Originally posted by chuckwatersI dont know if he is ready for Calzaghe, but it would be a good fight and win if he can do it.
1. Jeff Lacy doesn't need this match-up right now. He might be able to best Green; but Green's good enough that he could conceivably beat Lacy as well. This is a tough match. Coming off a humiliating loss like he suffered at the hands of Calzaghe, Jeff needs to be put in the ring with some durable journeymen so he can work on his boxing skill. He needs more work and confidence building fights before he climbs back into the ring with a top-flight opponent, IMHO. It's for his own good. Another loss at this stage would be emotionally and quite possibly economically devastating.
2. Calzaghe would be a hell of a test for Green; and quite possibly too much for him at this time. However, if he feels he's ready, there's only one way to find out. If he loses, even, he will be a better fighter after it's over. You can't fight a boxer of Calzaghe's credentials and not learn something. In addition, Green is a better boxer than Lacy, so he wouldn't suffer the same type of defeat if he did lose. Taking on Calzaghe right now is a win-win opportunity for young Green....even if he loses his "0" in the process. Experience is golden.Comment
