This is what being a fighter is about. Taking hard fights and if you lose do your best to get better.

If only he could improve the psycho babble/nonsense that comes out of his mouth...
I agree with you to an extent. I don't think he is his own man, though, as we saw last year with the differences that came out between him and Eddie, over the possible Wilder fight. It's like Eddie uses AJ as a mouthpiece, and the priority is ££££. Respect for taking the rematch with Ruiz, but again, that should be expected of a champion.

I'm going absolutely nowhere near saying AJ was in control. He was on stiff legs and, basically, ****ed. But even then he was still winning rounds - I gave him 4 out of the 6. Same as one judge and just one more than the other two who both gave Rd 4 to Ruiz (which I can't understand).

If Ruiz was just being patient then good on him, it all worked out. But I don't think he wanted to step off the gas against the clearly spent force in front of him. I don't think he could get close until AJ thought he had his chance and started trading.
I’m pretty much in agreement with you . For me because of the knockdowns I had Ruiz up by 1 but overall it was a pretty close fight . The rematch will be interesting and so won’t all the post on this board regarding the rematch.

Why do you say that? He is from Nigerian parents and had a tattoo of Nigeria? Stop being such a triggered beta.

Joshua is right. I think with a bit of patience , and let the fight come to him. He should be able to take a very calculated approach to winning this fight. I think he could even win it in spectacular fashion.

Its funny cos we all thought it was a matter of time once Ruiz got dropped. Once he got up on steady feet and ready to go though you got to get back to work and be patient.

I think the guy that called him Nigerian has an agenda.
AJ was born and raised in the UK. That makes him as British as all the other whites that have parents who came from other places like Spain, South Africa, Eastern Europe etc.

It’s a loaded verbiage and if we ignore context then yes it’s a pretty mundane exclamation but when you read it with context then it is a purely racist filled vitriol

So you are the arbitrator of context here?

How could stamina have played a role when he got hurt in only the third round of the fight? Do you think that he actually recovered from that shot later in the fight and got hurt on seperate and unrelated occasion? I don't see how stamina could have been an issue.
