He took Ruiz lightly and he paid the ultimate price....he thought he had it in the bag went for the finish full guns blazing and tried to end it early...Ruiz was not ready to be taken out.
The beef needed some more seasoning basically....next time slow cook itComment

Joshua annoys me the way he speaks but he is a real fighter. He took his loss like a man and even appeared at the post fight press conference and gave Ruiz his props. He also believes he can improve and win the rematch.
This is what being a fighter is about. Taking hard fights and if you lose do your best to get better.
If only he could improve the psycho babble/nonsense that comes out of his mouth...Comment

It wasn’t a mistake by Joshua. He did what he always does, gets a guy hurt and goes for the ko, unfortunately for him Ruiz was able to counter the attack instead of just covering up. Ruiz was able to do this because he has balls and was not afraid.Comment

Ruiz wasn't relentless in the first fight. AJ was on stiff legs and Ruiz was still losing rounds to him.
Ruiz got to Joshua every time Joshua thought he had him hurt and went for the kill. The problem was that Joshua did that regularly. He thought he could storm through him and impress everyone.
Unless Andy's got something else up his sleeve then I'd say this all about Joshua's patience. Can he stay on the outside and just take us through a snorefest to get the UD? I'm not sure, only takes one mistake, as we've seen. I don't doubt his ability to do it for 12 rounds though, he's done it before.Comment

The Joshua cucks here are acting like the first fight was close and Ruiz just 'got lucky'...
In reality the Nigerian robot short circuited, malfunctioned and quit.Comment

I don’t mean to chime in Toffee but did you actually write that Ruiz was losing rds ? You do know at the time of the KO Aj was behind. I am not saying Aj didn’t win some rds but he certainly wasn’t a fighter who was in clear condition control.Ruiz wasn't relentless in the first fight. AJ was on stiff legs and Ruiz was still losing rounds to him.

He was behind after 6 because of the extra knockdown in round 3; and one judge had him ahead. Other than that, he was winning rounds. Ruiz barely threw a punch in Round 4; anyone who gave him that round was caught up in the moment. He didn't do much more in Round 5. Round 6 Ruiz finally became the aggressor.
I'm going absolutely nowhere near saying AJ was in control. He was on stiff legs and, basically, ****ed. But even then he was still winning rounds - I gave him 4 out of the 6. Same as one judge and just one more than the other two who both gave Rd 4 to Ruiz (which I can't understand).
If Ruiz was just being patient then good on him, it all worked out. But I don't think he wanted to step off the gas against the clearly spent force in front of him. I don't think he could get close until AJ thought he had his chance and started trading.Last edited by Toffee; 09-07-2019, 07:50 AM.Comment
