Why would Showtime subsidise Wilder. Doesn't make business sense.

That’s how dumb some people really are, they really believe a company like showtime would rather lose 10m dollars on a boxer that doesn’t bring money in, a boxer that is over 30, a boxer that has never shown he had the potential to make up that loss of revenue for them.

I think people just made that up because of the DAZN offer. There's no way Showtime would've been able to afford to pay him that type of money without PPV. Also, when you consider the ridiculous amount they spent on the publicity/advertisement of the fight and how it flopped at the gate and viewing - I'd be surprised if he got paid half of that amount.

If Showime had that crazy amount of money to throw around for a fight like that - I'm sure Wilder vs Ortiz II would be on Showtime and not Fox PPV.

I feel you. My thing is that I feel that PBC has been embellishing figures for a while.

There's no way a fight that wasn't a sellout could bring in 15 to 20 million dollars as Wilder defenders claim. The cheap seats were $67 bucks, which is not much more than what they were for the Ortiz fight.

???????????Who gives a sh it they got it signed. Also its not just Wilder who make the decisions, matter a fact its not him AT ALL. The promoters pick the date and BOTH Wilder and Ortiz's people picked date. Again though who cares they got it signed and its a MUCH TOUGHER fight then Fury last and next opponent.

I used to see you on here talking about being a fan of boxing instead of a fan boy. If you can't take any objective criticism you are a fan boy. I don't make promoter threads. I can't stand the promoters and yes you should find out what somebody is about before you make assumptions otherwise you would of seen that I don't like ANY of the promoters and that I am fair to Wilder. I don't like this fight just like I don't like any of the fights Fury has been in since the Wilder fight and just like I don't like that AJ-Wilder didn't come to fruition. I despise boxing politics and I don't root for promoters. Yes I would of been fine with Rivas, Kownacki, Parker, and hell even Joyce or Chisora. ANYBODY but a repeat of a non event and what amounts to a tiny blip like a older Ortiz. Your problem is that the "haters" have ruined your thought processses so now you see objective criticism as a "hater comment" when its not. Its time to rethink your own objectivitiy and view this forum in a new light without letting the "haters" shade your perception of all the posters in here.
