It’s simple. A long time ago I saw what Floyd was doing. How he was carefully selecting opponents at just the right time in their careers where they were not at their best or they were hyped for the sake of building up the fight. Floyd never challenged himself against the best at their best. I cannot respect him the way I do real fighters who took risks and sought out the toughest challengers. Leonard, Hearns, Spinks, Duran, Whitaker, all possessed great skill, heart and the desire to face the best.

Crawford is trying to fight the best but he is being avoided. He has the skill, ability, and desire. If he can get the big fights he wants I think he will win and he will go down as an ATG and retire undefeated.

I think the only thing really holding him back is not the competition but the matchmaking. It LOOKS like it's going to happen. But, until the fights actually happen I'm skeptical. Funny stuff happens in this sport.

That is so true. I hope it happens but as you say, things often get in the way. We'll see what happens.

I'd really like to see fewer titles which would make unifications much more easy to come about. I feel sorry for guys trying to unify in this ridiculous era.

For one thing, Crawford has 35 fights. Let’s see what his resume looks like when and if he reaches 50 fights. It’s not his fault that fighters like Danny and Mikey Garcia, Thurman, Porter or Spence won’t fight him. I’m not buying any of this nonsense about promoters either. These fights can be made.

Crawford is a gifted fighter. I give credit to Floyd for his defensive skills and athleticism. But he was a boring fighter, and he never fully challenged himself. I don’t dislike him for his race, his arrogance or his success. I dislike him because he never fought to his fullest potential against the best at their best. He accused other fighters of being cheaters, overrated, or unworthy of their praise or success.
