He should be considered that much higher than Korobov for the reasons I specified. If he wasn't Charlo wouldn't have accepted a fight with him last minute.

For argument's sake lets say you're right. Even in that case GGG's choice of opponent is far superior. GGG didn't have to take the fight with Dervy. He could have pushed for a fight with a random Euro fighter like that Polish guy Kamil Whatdafookhisnameis. He could have went to Bob Arum and ask for a fight with that Japanese tomato can he promotes. Instead he went with a fight against a guy who gave Daniel Jacobs a good fight.

In fact, it could also be argued that by fighting Great Britain's 5th best super middleweight and a faded Sergei Kovalev instead of GGG Canelo is doing the same exact thing. But at least with Canelo's case he's challenging himself by fighting bigger guys. Charlo is picking on a smaller guy.

It's not a good argument because the comparison doesn't correlate to the judgement on the matchmaking. Particularly since Dervy would not be fighting GGG had the IBF not ordered the fight.

Korobov fought better than we thought he would but it was a clear victory by Charlo. One card was wider than most scored it but a clear result. GGG hasn’t slaughtered anyone with B level and up skills.
