    How disappointing is Campbell’s career?

He was an Olympic gold medalist but Luke Campbell lost both his chances at world titles and is basically 1-1 in his two fights that fall between title shot and local level competition.

less disappointing than robeisy Ramirez's career so far. just because Campbell is a gold medalist doesn't make him automatically entitled to be a champion. he fought close with a tough champion in linares, and not so close with a top p4p level champion in loma...he just came up a bit short is all.

He looks way behind other LWs guys like Haney and Lopez passed him by

The whole GB squad in London Olympics look in a bad shape right now

I think its disappointing for him because he is literally on the cusp of world championship level but there are just a few players too good right in front of him.

Had it been another time then he himself could be a world champ possibly even a unified one.

If Luke does decide to stick around until Lomachenko vacates sometime next year then hes got a chance.

He won a gold medal and is good enough to compete for world titles on the Pro stage..do ya'll really understand how hard it is to get on that level??? I think the guy can be proud of himself and his family has a true champion...There are thousands if not millions of boxers in the world..only a few get on your television, and even a less amount make it to the main even fighting for world titles

I didn't ever expect him to be a world champion.

Campbell was affected by his father’s death 2 weeks prior to the Linares fight, and Loma is Loma, so that’s that.

Campbell has nothing to be ashamed of.

The 2 stand out fights for him so far are Loma and Linares. The Linares one came at a bad time for him with the passing of his father. He fought well though and was a real close fight.

                Loma is Loma.

The belts may become vacant next year if Loma moves down or doesn't oblige to his mandatories. If that happens, I wouldn't bet against Campbell picking up a title. He's one of the better fighters at 135 IMO.

No shame in losing to an ATG like Lomachenko
