“Loma would make Gervonta Davis look ******” - Tony Bellew

No, it only helped him. I think Mayweathr did it because it was what made him a draw. A lot of people paid to see if he'd lose. And he milked that of course. But I don't think everyone has to go that route. Loma and Canelo both have Ls but it only helped them. Canelo proved he'd fight the guy who many felt was the best inthe world at only 23 years old. In just his second pro fight, Loma fought a guy with 60 fights and a former champion for a title. He nearly got the job done, too and has only improved since, as has Canelo. And then people knock Loma for not daring to be great. Hell, he was daring in his second fight or really in his first since Bob insisted he have one non-title fight first.Comment

I actually want to see Loma vs. Tank more than any other fight now. I am confident that Loma will school Tank, it will be a one-sided embarrassment. Of course the Loma haters won't give him credit for that win either--Tank was too small, coming up in weight, too young, Loma's amateur career...excuses will come pouring out the woodwork faster than the ****roaches that infest their run down tenements. Down the line, Shakur and Haney would prove to be much more competitive than Tank can every dream of being.Comment

I asked the question of which fighter took on that sort of challenge in just their second pro fight...I got crickets. Here's the thing, even if Loma would have beaten Salido, he still wouldn't credit for that win. They would just say Salido was old, washed up, B-rate etc.

Yes, I agree and it sounds like Haney is more willing to fight Loma even now. I'd love for them to make that fight in December. It would be more competitive than a Loma-Tank fight. All Tank's got is a puncher's chance. Outside of that, Loma all day. I mean, he's even smaller than Loma. Loma toys with smaller guys. Tank would learn plenty though and get plenty of respect, even from me and I don't even like Tank but I respect when guys show the stones to get in the ring with guys they aren't sure they can beat. That's admirable.Comment

The guys had 14 world title fights in 15 pro fights. It’s unheard of. I can never understand the Loma hate; he’s a great fighter who wants to fight the best and is fun to watch.
There’s nothing wrong with taking a risk early on in your career, the whole mystique around having a “0” isn’t appealing if you’re not facing top opposition.
Win, lose or draw, if Tank was to face Loma it would enhance his reputation massively amongst boxing fans. And if he pulled off the upset, he becomes a superstar.Comment

Very true. I'm not a Broner fan but the guy will fight anybody. I give him plenty of credit for that.Comment
