Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Don't How You Beat Lomachenko; Who's Gonna Beat Him

After witnessing what he saw Saturday night from a ringside seat, Eddie Hearn doesn't know that there's anyone in or below Vasiliy Lomachenko's weight class that could beat him at the moment. Luke Campbell, whom Hearn's company promotes, gave the WBA/WBC/WBO lightweight champion some difficulty during their 12-round fight at O2 Arena in London. But every time Campbell obtained some momentum, Lomachenko seemed to regain it quickly.

He might as well retire, or take a long vacation. Two, three years to let the comp catch up.

A much better sense of opinion than his old man ....who said Luke only lost four rounds max!

I don’t see anyone catching up with Loma often enough over 12 rounds to beat him on points. There’s always the chance that he gets caught with a big shot, but when buzzed against Campbell he then started to step on the gas and beat Campbell up. His footwork is so good that who’s going to get into position to catch him with that big shot?

Crolla said the worst thing he did was catch Loma with a body shot, that seemed to push Loma into gear and then he couldn’t do anything to respond.

if you can upset his rhythm you can slow him down. alot of Loma work is focusing on how he controls the pace of the fight. for many guys lately they get pulled into fighting alot of his style (outside the few rounds Linares won, and pedraza had some good spots). While i do believe Loma does not lose within the next few years eventually hes going to have to fight his age, and maybe reinvent himself like alot of the greats do. problem is that he's reached his ceiling at lw and by then a young strong lw could be loma downfall.

You beat him by being born with the name Orlando Salido....and adding a few low blows into the mix. No big deal.

Lomo has not fought anyone with concussive power, and complete boxing skills, he gets hit quite a bit for having "matrix" type speed.

A true puncher knocks him out last Saturday, early too.

Jose R could knock him out, and he isn't even an elite fighter yet, nor he is too far away in weight.

Same stable, but we know Arum wants to ride a gravy train, he won't risk Lomo's momentum until he is forced too.

The key to beating Lomo is actually matching him with elite opponents in their prime.

Pedraza was more effective than the last 4 guys lomo fought and tank destroyed him. I know styles makes fights and lomo has the better competition on paper, but I never seen tank rattled once in a fight. We’ve seen that in the last 4 fights with lomo. Certain fighter are great at be slick and avoiding shots and not being hurt, the matrix is not stopping that from happing here.
