Comments Thread For: Arum: Loma-Stevenson Is More Competitive Than Loma-Haney!

If Vasiliy Lomachenko can become boxing's fully unified lightweight champion, promoter Bob Arum anticipates a Lomachenko move back down to 130 pounds, perhaps lower. Arum could even envision Lomachenko fighting Shakur Stevenson, the undefeated featherweight contender his company promotes. Stevenson (12-0, 7 KOs), the WBO's No. 1 contender at 126 pounds, is expected to box No. 2-ranked Joet Gonzalez (23-0, 14 KOs) either November 2 or November 9 for the WBO 126-pound championship Oscar Valdez vacated last month.

what the F you talking about. Regardless of titles Tank is better than both of them. Boringchenko has Tank Davis problems. Simple and plain. Arum knows it and will always talk **** to throw the wrench in making it happen.🥊

Stevenson is still a young inexperienced prospect. Maybe in about 18 months he'd be ready
Haney hasn't fought anyone either so who knows. It's crazy how guys get move up to the top spots in rankings without fighting anyone you've ever heard of nowadays.

Most promoters wanna stay away from that tarnished 0 column for as long as possible.

Definitely wonky that boxing works in such a way that the best guys get 6, 7, 8 years into their careers before having a big fight often these days & some talented mfers never even have a big fight til they are on the slide down & in cashout mode.

Idk how you change that until the boxers have less power & some ent^ty whos looking out for boxing that isnt corrupt & doesnt currently exists comes on the scene & has the power to control fights that happen. Or state/country sanctioning bodies take more interest in only sanctioning evenly matched fights I guess that could do the job too, but I trust a new thing to come to be before I trust an old thing to change for the better.

And this is why promotors are known to be full of s***. If Haney was a top rank fighter, arums entire tone would be different. Remember when arum said Floyd was the best he's seen since Ali? Then after Floyd left his option of him as a fighter soured and now Loma is the best since Ali according to arum.
