That was sad...Roman Alvarez fights like a drunk bum at 7/11.

That fight would be very interesting. As we all know; Lara is older now and can no longer rely on his legs for defense. Therefore, he would be forced to fight Alvarez in the trenches while staying in the pocket.
However, Erislandy is one tough son of a gun though with a good chin. I think his age would be his undoing. In addition, coupled with Saul's upper body movement, it would be very hard for Lara to land flush head shots against him.
Therefore, I just don't see him winning a fight against the counter punching Canelo by trading and exchanges punches with him in the pocket.Comment

Lara is garbage. Been calling 160 for ages against Golovkin but sits in his place because Haymon begs him to be a gatekeeper for his 154 guys.
It’s a bit similar to what Arum did for Rigo’s fights instead of matching the harder fights. Money talks when you make the offers. Problem is the Cuban style, unless you’re Luis Ortiz at Heavy, can’t sell.
The best rep imo at the moment is Gamboa should he stay focused and be at his best.
Lara didn’t call out any of the 154 Champs because he was already coached by Haymon, PBC design, nor did he want Munguia. Lara puts his abilities to shame being puppet boy under PBC.Comment

Doubt Lara can really compete with Canelo now, he’s fading.
Lara should have a win over Canelo though. Canelo didn’t win their fight, only on the judges cards but that’s usual for Canelo..Comment

That is very easy question to answer. Every other boxer with a name is doing it. A least Lara deserve an easy fight after Castano and Hurd. Now he has a belt and some fighters that didn't want to give him a rematch, like Hurd, can try to do it again. In my opinion, Lara is one of a few boxers that has never been dominated, all his loses are very controversial, specially ginger and Williams.Last edited by garfios; 09-01-2019, 10:05 AM.Comment
