Why would people criticize Floyd for this? Being not ready is as valid as being over the hill. Given their age difference, Davis and Loma will never fight when they are both in the primes - that's just reality so we will never truly know who is a better fighter on an even playing fields.

Just like we wouldn't know whether GGG would have managed to KO Canelo and Jacobs had he been 4-5 years younger. GGG is older Canelo by 8 years and Canelo, in his prime, still couldn't manage to convincingly beat GGG in their 2nd fight. Let's not even bring up the first one. Same thing here, but with adjustment to Loma's weight class - his prime might be completely over in 2 years.

Davis can beat Loma. Floyd is just like every other promoter. He will match Davis against every safe fighter until Davis becomes a household name. The goal is to make as much money off of Davis before a match with Loma is made.
