With the new merger between Viacom and CBS. Viacom will have control of Showtime NOT CBS. So It'll be interesting if Viacom follow CBS's strategy in regards to Boxing as a Premium Cable product.

They went completely away from what made HBO Boxing so popular!

Look I get it, you want to expand your fan base and reach other demographics, I totally get that However what you cannot do bury all the American Fighters to build up all these Foreign Fighters and expect everybody to just go along with it. The American Fan has been insult, disrespected and forgotten in this equation and this is why Boxing has Declined DRASTICALLY...

Numbers Don't Like...The Biggest Fights In Boxing History All INCLUDED AN AMERICAN...even better when it is a BRASH AMERICAN!

Showtime not going anywhere because they are smart with their budget...again they're not making the mistake HBO did. I think things will be worked on with PBC for more quality fighters BUT I'm sure Haymon as well as the fighters themselves want to be on Network TV, they want the Red Carpet Treatment that FOX is Rolling Out for the Sport...

Time for Showtime and CBS to flex their muscle and do the same, hopefully the Viacom Merger will now allow them to do what FOX is doing a bit more. They have to use CBS if possible though OR maybe with the Viacom Merger it is another Network they can put boxing on that at will reach more homes to go along with still having fights Showtime
Smart with their money? They're paying PBC over 100 mil a year to produce the regular Showtime cards. So far this year the fights they've had aren't worth 1/5 of that.

Showtime is the financial backing for big named fighters and exists as an incentive to make the right fights in your career and have great promotion.
What Sho needs to do is capture more promoters. But with every network offering lucrative deals in different directions that will be hard to do.
Boxing on Fox is so the majority of Americans have access to the sport- whether they watch or not it’s the potential to build the sport. Showtime is for those premium quality fighters in high demand OR upcoming superstars.
If HBO came back they could probably back Whatever Dana whyte is doing.
Dana coming to Boxing is a good thing. Not because he’ll change the landscape or the sport forever. Simply because he’s built up a solid fanbase of a certain demographic of people who will follow him back to Boxing.
Bro anything SHO can do, FOX can do a better job. FOX PPV will reach more Homes than SHO PPV. Due to FOX's larger viewer base from which they can promote the hell out of any major fight much better than SHO's All Access can.

I'm not going to argue than SHO has the best production team. But I'm talking about making money and hitting viewing numbers. Wilder v Fury would've probably got more buys if Fox had the fight on FOX PPV.

Considering that it has been a lack of fights on Showtime, I seriously doubt that budget will be $100 Million this year for PBC on Showtime and no they don't still get $100 Million budget just to pockets if Showtime is not getting fights

The only info we know is Showtime are paying over 100 mil a year for PBC cards. That's the deal. Why do fools like you just start making up fantasy crap to defend PBC putting on crap and ripping of Showtime. Stick to the facts, not fantasy you cook up.

I know. It's so great following a sport where the athletes pick and choose who they compete against. All sports should adopt this model. Nothing to complain about at all.

I don't know. Why would someone bother making up crap of what "might be" in a contract when the possibilities are endless. Stick to the facts you can't go wrong.
