those slaps most probably did long term damage. what i mean by that is that in his next fight he wont be the same. he wont be knocking out ppl he may just barely win the fight.

yes he showed lots of heart but what is the point staying in there and taking a beating like that. the corner is too blame. we dont need another G-Man. sadly

you cant even compare Calzaghe's power to Benn's power. Benn would've had Lacy sleeping by the 3rd if he hit Lacy with half the shots that Calzaghe hit him with by then. Calzaghe's power is not nearly as good or devastating as Benn's power was.

I dont think he was comparing their power i think he meant it in the sense we dont need to have another tragedy like that and absorbing the amount of punishment lacy took is how things like that happen.

thanks for the refresher, i hadn't seen that fight for a few months. i wonder how many people besides me were giving calzaghe a good chance before the fight.

gotta love how lacy's corner was allowed nearly 30 seconds just to fix the tape around lacy's glove. a good ref wouldn't be that patient, especially since calzaghe had a chance to put him down for the count.

Just goes to show how slappy Calzaghe is.He could not finish a man who was ready to go for several rounds.He survived and showed tremendous heart and a solid chin by lasting the distance.He lost with dignity and class and will be a champion again.....
