Man, this is getting beyond a joke.

Mayweather is going to fight Spinks at 147 I assume. Spinks was having HELL making 147, HELL!!! Spinks will be so damn weight-drained it won't even be funny. I won't even give Mayweather credit for this win if the fight's at 147.

Baldomir I am fine with. He is the linear champ, so be it. He has proved he's got balls of steels and I hope mr.ego Mayweather won't fight Baldomir just because Mayweather will take a precious pay cut.

Mayweather has said time and again that he is "the truth" all the way to 154. We all know Oscar would only fight Floyd at that weight, he said he would not come down and there would be no catch-weight, so if we're talking about a tune-up to De la Hoya, I think Floyd would fight Spinks at 154. At least, that is the assumption for this thread. Would you still rather see a Baldomir fight even if the Spinks bout would take place at the heigher weight? Just curious.

I am going on record saying that I have serious doubts the Baldomir fight will come across. Honestly, I don't think Mayweather is going to fight any guys who are going to come at him and swarm him. He is going to fight Spinks because he'll have the ability to outbox him. I think now the fight will be at 154 because he is waiting for Oscar later next year and a Spinks bout will get him used to 154. He will probably keep active inbetween and fight a 154 lber with a style like DelaHoya.

ANy other fighter other then Spinks/Baldomir is a huge backwards step, huge. I don't know though. Floyd's really going to have to handpick once he reaches 154. It will be VERY tough for him at that weight.

Agreed. I think the only difference between us is that you seem to be sick of Floyd already, his choices, and I am just now running out of patience. Up to this point I've been fine. I think Spinks, even at 154, is a worse fight that Baldomir. I see no reason to leave Welterweight other than to tune-up for Oscar...but beating one fighter, though I want to see it, does not make a career. Floyd needs to do some work at 147 before looking for a promotion- ha. Seriously, I'll go on record saying that I think Mayweather has no heart if he fights Spinks. Then I will wait for a Margarito fight for redemption.

I don't think Floyd has heart. What he does have though, is a lot of pride.

He is smart, though. He is making himself a bundle right now because he has always goten the short end of the stick when he wasn't a big star. He has an ego problem now and he doesn't want guys making a lot of money with him. Hatton has the upperhand on him in negotiations, so does DLH, blah blah blah.

Mayweather is just cashing in right now with the littlest risk. It's so damn easy to see.

are you kidding? with Mayweather's present situation, it should be Baldomir, out of the two of them.. problem is it's "should"

Carlos is the lesser (or morer?) of two easy fights IMO... the biggest joke here is that we're having to debate this

The debate here isn't who is the easier fight, but who us fans most want to see. Not everyone wants to see him fight Baldomir, and this thread is basically saying, if there are two choices: Baldomir and Spinks, which fight do you want to see most? Granted, they may not be our first choices, but Mayweather is fighting someone in Novemember and it very well may be one of these two men.

If that's the case, then i can't see how ANYONE would want to see Floyd Mayweather fight Cory Spinks... unless maybe it's someone from St. Louis (and even then, i'd be thinking twice)

I guess Baldomir is the one that makes the most sense, except how are they going to make that fight happen? Baldomir "priced himself out" before the Judah fight (according to Floyd, of course), so I'm sure Baldy's going to up his price even more after destroying Gatti. Don't see how the numbers work for that fight. And I don't think anyone really wants to see Spinks-Mayweather. That would be simply a case of Mayweather running out his division because he spied an easy title to take. Taking easier fights is not what fans want to see and they quickly lose respect for fighters making those types of moves.

Almost 10 years of ducking for Floyd.
