But Kovalev weathered the storm. Had that been in the UK or us it could well have been stopped in the 8th as Kovalev was taking a beating. But the ref was right to let in go on. Yardes problem was he had no plan b and once he'd gassed he had no second wind where as Kovalev even at his ripe old age had powers of recovery and was able to come again.

How the hell did Yardes team not know about Yardes own stamina levels. Yarde himself is oblivious he has no experience, hes not been really pushed hard and hasnt had to go long hard rounds, he felt like a king and expected the Kovalev fight to feel and pan out like the rest. The truth is he hasnt got a clue, but surely his team should.
Hes not done the rounds in the fights, or in sparring apparently which i find hard to believe, hes not been pushed hard or pushed back, hes not felt those energy sapping nerves of a big important fight against a formidable opponent.
It was too big of a leap and Yardes version of that style of fighting had serious defensive issues that you should of dealt with and refined in his rise through the the quality of opposition aswell as finding out your stamina isnt quite what it was when you were schooling and knocking out bums. You cant take big inexperienced jumps like that and get away with it unless there is something special about you and Yarde is a good fighter but not good enough to just jump up in class and take down somebody like Kovalev. The mans still green as hell.

You don't plan anything late when you never been past 7 rounds so that was pretty dumb if true.Yardes problem was round experience and you only get them by being in them .Yarde would win the rematch if he jumps on him early , Kovalev would not be able to keep Yarde off him and he's lucky they went with a dumb game p!an.Last edited by juggernaut666; 08-26-2019, 06:24 AM.

Bunch of BS,
I watched it again and at no point would it have warranted a stoppage. Everyone is exaggerating. The 10th round was way more of a one sided beating. Yarde only put it on Kov in the last minute of the 8th round. 10th round was way more one-sided

Jump on him and you end up on the canvas

He was waiting for Kovalev to gas but got gassed himself by round 5.
I think Tunde assumed he had a better gas tank.
If only there was a way to test that in some kind of practice in training.
