Most sports fans are not truly objective. The same is true of Canelo fans. I watched both Canelo/GGG fights without a dog in the fight. I was only rooting for great fights not rooting for either guy. I saw things differently than most Canelo fans. At best I had a draw in the second fight with GGG winning a close decision or a draw in the first fight as well. Fans are blinded by their loyalty. In football, baseball, basketball, and hockey, fans will dispute calls that were clearly correct and vice versa. Canelo is an excellent fighter but you are partially correct where the mythology sometimes obscures reality. An in shape Kovalev will not be an easy fight for any middleweight.

Ive posted about this several times. Apparently it makes you a hater just because youve noticed he never stops anyone who isnt chinny. Froms smaller welters up to anyone hes own size he just doesn't get the knockout and often doesn't even get knockdowns. The last time i mentioned this just before Jacobs someone come on here betting me how he'd at least knock Danny down. Nope. And yet we have all these posts and Delahoya saying everytime this time he "destroys" insert fighter here, even durable guys who theres no reason to expect him to dent. But apparently, it makes you a hater. 😂I keep seeing people on this site constantly go on about how canelo is a huge puncher, and has destructive body work. Suddenly he's going to ko a full fledged light heavyweight in kovalev? My question is,who has canelo ko'd or dropped that shows he has the ability to do so? Let's look at his Kos and knockdowns in his last 15 fights.
Fieldings (tko) paper champion who had been demolished by Callum in one round. Showed up for a paycheck to be a punching bag.
Liam Smith (ko) paper champ at 154 who won a vacant title and hadn't fought anyone of note before canelo. Still went 9 rounds with the guy.
Amir Khan (ko).... Need I say more?
James Kirkland( ko) weight drained and chinny as hell. Previously destroyed by a pillow punching ishida in one round.
Angulo(tko) he was a custom made punching bag,and yet the referee had to stop the fight since it got embarrassing that canelo couldn't put him away. Has been stopped by both Kirkland and Lara.
Austin trout (Ud) only decent fighter who canelo managed to drop.
Lopez (tko) Fought a blown up 140 lb fighter and 154. Was never good to begin with, and best win was a post Maidana and mayweather Ortiz.
Canelo has decent power that gets people's respect but he is by no means a big puncher. He only shines with chinny, undersized, weight drained,or crappy fighters. He is incredibly overrated on this site in the power department, and is not going to stop a dude who is used to taking punches from full fledged light heavies.Comment

Yeah Kovalev is a good counter puncher. I agree with you. So KO, no.. But I think what people don't understand is that Canelo's strength is that he can neutralize his opponents with his strength. So you have bigger guys like GGG and Danny that normally would run over guys of Canelo's size, but Canelo checks them with his power. And that is whats fun to watch. Now you get to see GGG or Danny on the back foot. Canelo also has a good chin. Put it all together and that's why he's fun to watch.Comment

Kovalev is a true jr. heavyweight puncher. He is not past prime 155 Cotto or a middleweight Jacobs or even a middleweight GGG. Canelo had hard time with all these guys, just imagine him getting hit by a 175 champ.Yeah Kovalev is a good counter puncher. I agree with you. So KO, no.. Maybe 5 years ago he was but not today. He came in weighed in at 168 for Fielding without a bit of fat. He passed on fighting any middleweight in September in favor of fighting only Kovalev in the fall. He is short but not light. I think he is more comfortable above 160 and may not fight at 160 again. Making him tiny makes his accomplishments seem better only he is now a big middleweight and not a small middleweight. Wait and see if he ever fights at 160 again.
Based on facts CANELO is the smallest fighter in the division. GGG, Jacobs , Andrade , Charlo etc. all are bigger.
CANELO vs. Kovalev would be the smallest Middleweight vs. arguably the biggest light heavyweight. If CANELO can pull off the victory jumping up 2 weight classes would be another great P4P victory for Alvarez. Your lies & hatred towards CANELO don't change facts.Comment

He couldn't even take out Matthew Hatton, it took him 12 rounds to take out Rhodes. His power is very overrated tbhComment
