To simulate the rigors of a fight you actually have to fight.

System 10 IMO. Yarde's best sparring is avoiding getting a cut from his big heavyweight pad guy trying to lay into him while not wearing proper gloves. -
I don't believe them for one second that Yarde didn't spar in preparation for this fight.
Anyone can say that to sound cool, how would we know what goes on behind closed doors?Comment

Throw in some road work as well for some stamina and lay off the bench presses. Oh and maybe fight some guys on the way up to get you ready for a fight like this. Fighting euro level bums doesn't prepare you for championship level fights.Comment

That's what baffled me a little bit - if the aim is purely self preservation, wth does that bug dude come at him swinging with those pads lol.Comment

Yeah I think this has puzzled a lot of people. Kinda seems like they start out with a roughhousing playful mentality then rapidly escalates to what looks like he's trying to take Yarde's head off.Comment

The training is garbage and the fat pad man isn't a fighter. He's not trying to hurt Yarde, he's just looking like he's trying to hurt him. Big difference.
Can you imagine the fat pad guy throwing those pads at Tyson or Hagler, Duran etc. He'd be in a bodybag.
It's not really training, it's just a bit of fun for the cameras.Comment

He does spar obviously. Maybe not as much or hard as other fighters do but he has to spar some.
His fake ass trainer is just trying to market himself to other fighters with this nonsense.Comment
