mods put up a poll - should be more polls anyway. I have the nail or Bivol as best LHW and I'd give Kov a good chance of decisioning Beterbiev who is probably past prime and inactive

history with an asterix as per RJJ vs Ruiz, as per Canelo vs Fielding - hell, why not just go after Pascal, he has a 'belt' now

No, not correct. "Almost" is subjective and means a fighter is showing nothing. At no point was Kov not defending himself or out on his feet and not firing back. Almost winning would have been Yarde dropping Kov in the last round and Kov rises at the 9 count. Kov was not defenseless at any point. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Too many idiots are wined, dined, and seduced by unbeaten punchers. Anyone with a lick of sense or having been around the sport for more than a minute would know Yarde's muscles and lack of distance fights and competition would haunt him and it did. Easy money for whoever bet on Kov to win late. A lot of broken hearts bet on Yarde.

He is not the best 175 fighter, for sure. canelo fans ( they are Ward fans as well) are hyping him now because he will likely fight Canelo.

But I think that even that version of Kovalev is too good for Canelo. People say Canelo will go to the body from the first round. I would love to see that, lol.

Kovalev only wins money in this fight even if he decapitates Canelo. Canelo has zero to lose no matter what happens. Canelo wins and it could be just because Kov is past prime- which he seems to be, but he gets this historical boost for it.

I just don't like these gimmicky type fights for some bs legacy. Even down to Pac- Margarito and ones like that where there is no intention to defend the belt.

It's not like Canelo would defend that title even if he won.

I just think they are dumb. And I may be a minority in that thinking. So be it.

Of course it is. And most people I saw were in agreement Yarde almost won the fight in the 8th round.

Feel free to feel how you feel obviously. Sometimes I agree with the majority like with this & sometimes I don't like you don't now myself.

It is simple. If a fighters is A) defenseless, B) not fighting back and not throwing punches C) gets dropped and gets up on shaky legs at the count of 9, then he was almost knocked out. Thats my criteria. bottom line, it is like taking candy from a baby when betting on this fight because of the obvious differences. The smart money was on Kov for a late KO which is what happened.
