Damn good afternoon of boxing, both fights delivered...i expected kovalev n not yarde to gas out late, n my prediction of yarde by late ko was looking good in the 8th. But that was yardes last stand unfortunately, too much muscle in his physique. Kov has a great jab, he dominated most of the fight with it. Yarde will be back though.

Thats why this fight is intriguing. Canel will get winded, he always does and Kovalev will too if you keep pressure on him. I would have liked to have seen it a few years ago but it usually happens that way. Kovalev is clearly on the slide but he may have enough for another great one.

caught the fight late, but hilarious seeing Yarde running on fumes and getting dropped by a jab.

He needs to start running & drop a lil muscle. He's too f#cking top heavy & thats sh^t for stamina. Did well & much better then most expected. Seen plenty of people saying he was gonna be KO'd in 6 or less ffs. Meanwhile he almost took Kovalev out in the 8th.

I think the no or minimal sparring thing is fine although I'm sure 99% of mfers would disagree with me there.

To say nothing of his Achille's heel - body shots - being Canelo's specialty.
Kov did seem to take the shots well today to the body...unless those really brought on the gassing as well...but yeah with Kov's stamina and body issues Canelo will always have a shot...especially with a weight restriction or two

No no no, Kovalev is still very good and showed as much in this fight as well as the Alvarez rematch which was a true test of his heart and ability. Canelo and would be smoked by Sergei, he's a great boxer and still a ferocious puncher. Canelo is very good but he's yet to beat an actual SMW champ yet.

Wasn’t close on the cards but Yarde had Kovalev on the brink. he just came up one punch short, to be fair.
