Why does the gate matter? Gate doesn't equal interest. Fury's fight in Vegas had a higher gate than Ramirez cards in Fresno with thousands of fewer people attending. Attendance matters. It shows people are so interested they'll come to the fights. Peltz puts on other cards in Philly that sell out drawing thousands

And Peltz is one of many promoters TR uses for cards they know won't generate big gates. Philly isn't where you put big fights. For smaller fights, TR doesn't care about ticket sales as they're not getting the money from them anyway. They just need a building so they can collect their TV license fee.

Meh, both matter but to me give me the higher gate. You could sell over 3k tickets for $5 dollars like Ramirez did, but what does that mean? Charlo sold 4-5k tickets and did over 300k the gate Ramirez did last fight. I'll take that over 13k tickets being sold for a gate that doesn't come close to 500k

As a promoter I would too. But even selling 15k at $5 a pop is something to be happy about. A lot of guys out here can't do that now

For sure, I just don't agree that the gate figures don't matter, especially for the top level fighters. If you are trying to sell a young prospect? Then yeah, get as many in attendance as possible even if the tickets are cheap. That's when you want to build the foundation of the youngsters fan base.

He's talking about sales, not revenue generated. Nobody coming up see the fighters. It's not a price problem. It's a lack of interest problem.

              Understand?

Wow. A total of 800 tickets for 2 shows?

                Sad if true.

None of it matters. ESPN is paying. Understand?

You're still stuck on money. Hearn is not talking about money. He's talking about the lack of interest in their shows. His number is way off but he's using hyperbole. Their shows aren't attracting interest. You can't give tickets away.

****ty ratings and nobody coming to your shows. That's a problem no matter if ESPN is paying or not because they won't be paying for long with the results
