Let in shows. That's why they're talking about putting Crawford on after the Heisman trophy ceremony. ESPN's highest rated boxing shows have been after they followed a high rated sports show.
This is what I've been trying to explain to people when it comes to PBC shows. Their lead in shows are infomercials & local programming, not great shows to lead in with. So their ratings show they're brining people to the station specifically to watch boxing.Comment

You do know these ratings don't come from boxingscene, right? Not really. It's just the deceptive way ratings are reported on this site that make it seem that way. Tank's previous fight averaged 553k but that was for less than 10 minutes of a much longer broadcast. The Showtime card as a whole only averaged about 350k viewers.
Also, this was Navarette's first main event. The fights against Dogboe were co-main events.Comment

I think ESPN also has shot itself in the foot with putting some cards on ESPN+ confusing the hell outta people probably turning them away. There's been plenty of times my grandfather has called me complaining that he can't find the channel to watch the fights not knowing it's on the the appLet in shows. I know they don't come from BoxingScene but you're echoing their biased reporting. BoxingScene wants you to believe that Tank fights get more viewers than ESPN fights because they'll only report on peak numbers or average for some very small segment of an entire broadcast. For ESPN they usually only tell you the average for the full broadcast which is always the lowest number compared to the peak or main event average.
When you do an apples to apples comparison, the ESPN shows will almost always do better than Showtime in every category.Last edited by Bob Haymon; 08-20-2019, 10:45 PM.Comment

The peak numbers are only released to Nielsen subscribers. I'm not sure where BoxingScene gets their numbers from, it's up to them if they want to report on them or not but by only reporting on the lowest numbers for one promoter and the highest numbers for another it creates a distorted perception. Peak numbers are irrelevant anyways because they represent the smallest timeframe.Comment

And boxingscene is using public numbers released by Nielsen, not from a subscription. The peak numbers are only released to Nielsen subscribers. Have you ever noticed boxingscene writes articles about ratings after a user has already posted it when a source? If they're using a Nielsen subscription they would get the info before users on the site. Even the guy I used for the source didn't post the peak. But he posted peak for UFC prelimsAccording to Nielsen Media Research data released Tuesday, an average of 471,000
