    Wow. Truer words never typed.

Not just that, but Trip G kinda needs to look good in winning. He does not have to blow him out or anything, but he needs to win convincingly and look like he still has plenty of road ahead of him. Derevyanchenko is good enough to make him look real pedestrian if Trip G is not ready and then that deal is real shaky.

Yankee, those are the kind of posts which get attacked ever so rabidly on Golovkin or Alvarez threads. You can not sound even handed or level headed on those fights and not get pummeled.

Just saying duck and cover. You are on someone's list now.....

Coming off a loss without a title, why get a third fight?

Have triple G get a belt, make it a big time Unified bout and everybody is happy.

We get the trilogy and Canelo has more incentive than just beating a fighter again he has already beaten.

It’s like Triple G giving Jacobs a rematch in the strength of the first fight, clearly not happening. Why expect Canelo to do different?
        If you say so.
Diva don't want the work. :-)

So I was saying, that Canelo still ducked ggg (back when he fought khan, Smith and Chavez Jr instead) when he also got stripped of his title, even though he eventually fought ggg. Similar scenario. Now how is it that you said ggg doesn't wanna face Charlo but when it comes to Canelo, it's because of the network dispute with dazn and PBC. Isn't ggg with pbc too? With andrade, he's the fight that makes the most sense for Canelo. They're both with dazn, both have mw titles and both are around the same age. I don't think Kovalev is a walk in the park but again, he's is another example of Canelo trying to get a world title in a scenario that is not as dangerous as the other options available to him. He fought Liam Smith for a 154 belt instead of the other champs like Charlo bros or a lata rematch at the time when all had belts, he fought Rocky fielding instead of any of the other champs at 168 like callum smith, and now he's looking past several top young fighters to face Kovalev.
You must have forgotten that Canelo was in the process of his trial when the WBC ordered him to negotiate with Triple g and give him 45% of the purse?? As far as Charlo you do remember after HBO closed shop both Canelo and Triple g were free agents. Triple g even met with Al Haymon and Al Haymon offered him a deal for a tune up fight and then a ppv fight with Charlo and Triple g said no and Abel Sanchez also said they weren't fighting Charlo. So Triple g went to DAZN begging Canelo for a pay day again...
As far as Fielding I totally agree with you. Canelo went after the weakest link at super middleweight. That's why I don't consider Canelo a champion at super middleweight. Yes I agree that Canelo is going after the weakest champ at light heavyweight as a way to get another belt in a different division. I don't agree with this move cause I feel a fighter should clean out a division before moving up to capture another belt instead of jumping around divisions fighting the weakest champions in different divisions.
But you said Triple g is with PBC... Since when??

Why does Canelo have to fight a tough fight while Triple g fights an Uber driver just to get a Canelo fight again??
Why can't people just address the point without changing the subject? Close fights that could have gone either way and are exciting should have rematches.

Great fight, be interesting to see what he has left at nearly 38, Derevyanchenko is solid but GGG should win a decision, weird he is fighting for a belt he got stripped of less than 18 months ago too.

I meant ggg is with dazn just like Canelo so having fight with a pbc fighter has the same exact hurdles. I won't disagree with much you said but as far as when canelo dropped the wbc title, it didn't have to do with purse split. He or golden boy had plenty of chances to negotiate other terms but they weren't interested. Then they used the excuse that the wbc didn't give them enough time. They knew ggg was his mandatory because ggg needed to step aside to allow Cotto vs Canelo to happen. So if they were serious about facing him, they couldn't negotiated with him while they were getting ready for their voluntary defense vs Khan. That's exactly what they did a yr later when they negotiated with him leading into his fight with Chavez Jr. That's why they announced the fight in the ring as soon as Chavez Jr lost.

If Golovkin digs to the body against Derev like he did against Rolls, this fight doesn't go past 8.
