The WBA awards its world championship title at the professional level. Founded in the United States in 1921 by thirteen state representatives as the NBA, in 1962 it changed its name in recognition of boxing's growing popularity worldwide, and began to gain other nations as members.

No that'd be the WBA seeing as the WBC was formed by WBA rejects.

Yeah, in one sentence actually; the WBC has the oldest roots.

National Sporting Club founded in the 1890s is today the WBC.

The International Boxing Union circa 1910 is now the WBC

        Continue or are you good?

Leon Spinks refused to fight Ken Norton and rematched with Ali instead.
We Be Corrupt made a champion out of Ken Norton without winning a title fight .

That's not true, they formed a coalition with old organisations such as the EBU but the actual founders and rules that they established independently aren't the oldest. Ya tarking rubbish.

Firstly, I don't understand why y'all expect me to defend the position. I'm answering the question dude asked. That's all. If you want defense go to the WBC and shoot them a line and ask them to defend the position for anything near a proper defense.

Secondly, how does anything you said in anyway negate the claim the WBC has the oldest roots?

The WBC is a sanctioning body made up of older sanctioning bodies, and, the WBC has the oldest roots, sound like the same damn thing in different words to me so I am confused by the objection.

Yep, the WBC claims prestige over the WBA because it is the EBU champion now, the NBC champion now, and the NYSAC champion now. All three predate the WBA.

Andy does not have anything like Dempsey's belt. Dempsey had an NBA, looked different, different names, different rules, different people running it, everything is different.

Deontay Wilder does not have anything like Johnson's belt. Johnson had an IBU, looked different, different names, different rules, looked different, different people running it, everything is different.

WBA is today's version of Dempsey's belt

WBC is today's version of Johnson's belt.

....could throw lineal in that lark too.

Anyway, point is they have the roots. You don't have to like the WBC or agree, it's still the reason they claim prestige.
