Why WBC the Real Belt
08-19-2019, 08:08 PM
Please educate me on why WBC straps are so prestigious.
In recent times WBC have been devaluing their currency by making up belts out of thin air.

It's not. The thing that makes a belt prestigious, is who you beat to get it.

All the belts have been bastardized. The WBC & WBA got the longest history, but they've long destroyed their legitimacy.

Because the WBA created the mess of having multiple champions in same division in the 60s a lot of people and commissions didnt recognize the WBA
WBC didn't strip Ali for fighting Sonny attempted to unify global commissions and rules was considered as the real belt at the time
Basically it was between the WBC and WBA people didn't like WBA going it's own route and creating another champion in the division
