Tyson Fury has been bigging Anthony Yarde up on every medium possible. And "Boxing Clever" chooses to steal articles/quotes from other websites, and twists and sensationalizes the only possibly statement that can be given a negative spin. You need some sort of quality control on these articles.

Gosh that’s a lot of pressure. Apart from Team Lions in the camp. I don’t think most people are picking Yarde, the good thing is he isn’t facing the best Kovalev but it’s still ballsy to go to Russia for this fight. If he wins it then it’s a massive victory for Yarde as he has never even fought anyone close to this version of Kovalev.

Question (maybe, future thread topic): why is GGG a future HOFer (most experts opinion), yet Kov is classified as likely borderline HOFer. Personally I thought Kov had a better pro career by far (competition wise, not earnings). Do you think GGG's pro career was better, and would you personally classify GGG as a HOFer?

I am excited for this great event of boxing yeahhhhh!!!!

If Yarde lost this fight in a KO/TKO fashion against Kovalev, is not the end of the world and his career. The new rule: lost your 0 and your career is over, career is over my ass. Yarde can gain more in his win or his lost (depending how he lost) against Kovalev. On the other hand, Kovalev have much to gain in victory with the Canelo lottery and a lost, he have to much to lose in the Canelo lottery or possibly retire. Overall I am desperate to see this fight next weekend. My heart said to Kovalev and my mind said to Yarde.

If Yarde loses bad, it will affect his career. He doesn't have a lot to fall back on. If he loses in a questionable or robbery type decision, maybe not, but if he doesn't wobble or drop Kovalev, he's going to lose bad.

Yep. Theres something going on with that whole Frank Warren scene. Tunde was already nuts but Yarde is acting ridiculous nowadays, he always seemed humble before. Weve even got Ben Davidson talking nonsense about Yarde being the more skilled boxer than Kovalev. I can't believe he actually thinks this. Warren literally lays out the script now i think.

I think both end up making it but their seem to be a coupl differences I can see that puts GGG up higher on the list for many:

                1) The MW title defense record. You can denounce it as a meaningless product of increased belts and a weak MW division, but these types of accomplishments sell and do end up getting guys more HOF cred. Its noteworthy and plays in the mind of many. The fact that Kovalev successfully defended unified titles against only three fighters before the Ward loss does not shine as well as GGGs run.

                2) The 2 Ward fights v the 2 Canelo fights. Both first fights were disputed, but the fact that Kov lost a UD with all three judges agreeing makes it seem more legit, than Canelo/GGG 1. For many, GGG was able to earn a draw in the first fight despite the Byrd card, and Canelo having the support of a big time (allegedly corrupt) promoter. In the second fights, Kov was folded by a man roughly his own age, and GGG once again went toe-to-toe with an in prime lion (despite being on the wrong side of 35). This may not really mean he is better, but it does help further the narrative.

Now, whether or not these mean anything is up to the reader, but they are the type of things that seem to push the vote.

That's rich coming from a guy who lost to John McDermott, obviously not officially but he did.
If Yarde loses it doesn't mean crap all about his career he'll just have a few easier fights before stepping up in class so far.
Personally I think he's stepped up too far, too fast and will lose but it won't be the end of his career and if he were to win...

That's an odd take by Fury.
