I remember the hype on this kid. Unfortunately every time one points out the obvious nationalists become butthurt and start with the "build the wall" ****ee.... this dude, pitufo, and the 150 other Rican prospects have been C class level at best. The Rican boxing era ended in the 80s

The hype comes from promoters that need to sell their products ,a prospect is not a sure thing, is a lot easier to notice when they fail when they come from a small island like PR (3 1/2 m), now on the other hand when they come from a big country like Mexico(100 m), not counting the ones in the USA is a lot harder to notice, the amount of prospects from your side of the fence is much bigger and with a higher % of success , butthurt?, l don't think so...just irritating, you mex's have or think to have this ability to said things to make yourself look bigger and better ,....

PR has a new class of champion quality fighters. Matis leads the pack, but there are contenders in other divisions. Verdejo got more hype than was due, it distracted from the sad shape of PR boxing. These new guys have to prove themselves. The games are the same, but the audience is wiser.

I beg to differ... Ricans always seem to want to think of themselves as superior because of the BS per capita argument. We Mexicans on the other hand, do very little, to no talking and all action in the ring. The Mex vs PR battle is as real as a pot of gold under the rainbow, now a days. That era ended in the 80s. Don't worry though, the WBO will keep crowning Ricans just to keep the island in the boxing world. It will be another fraudulent crowning but nevertheless a crown will be given. I say wait about 3 - 4 months for that to substantiate.

The per capita argument is not BS, the volume of Mex boxers is much higher than those from PR, is something mex's don't want to admit to make themselves look better even you know that. The norm for us is one or two belt holders at the time (prefer quality over quantity )while mex's tends to triple that most of the time (volume). How many Champs MX have as we speak?,10,15 ?. All they do is holding the belts hostage, not willing to face good opposition. Fighting undeserving opponents one after the other . All this while claiming and screaming to high heaven they want to fight the best . Just to name a few of Mexico so call warriors ,Valdez,Vargas, Zurdo,Beltchet,Santa cruz, Mungia….how many quality defenses have the fans enjoy?, or you for that matter?. You need to admit that your class of today is just living the reputation of their previous real warriors (Barrera,Morales,JCC, Chiquita,Ramirez,JMM,Finito),just to name a few. I been watching this sport for a long time, with the exception of Estrada,Vaquero and Benavidez the rest is nothing to brag about.

The WBO is corrupted you're absolutely right, they will find ways to crown one of their own. I just find it hard to believe that you bought this up. WBC, do I need to enlighten you on this?, i strongly recommend no to throw rocks if your house is made of fragile glass.
