Is Alvarez's "I don't like him" a valid reason for not fighting somebody?

I think most fans and boxing people (with the exception of Alvarez fans) would agree that their first two fights did not produce a clear winner and a third fight is necessary.
It's a great fight financially and for the sport itself.
We can only take Alvarez's word that "his business with Golovkin is finished" and that walking away with a MD win is good enough to prove he's a better fighter.

I read comments where fans will say how this fighter ducked another fighter, with zero evidence, and here we have Alvarez admitting he don't want to fight Golovkin and fans say it's no duck.
Maybe not, but if that's the case the only time you could call a fighter avoiding another guy a duck, would be if that fighter comes right out and says,"I want to make this crystal clear, I've decided to duck Mr.X"
that is not the reason, this one is :

“Look, first things first,” Alvarez said through a translator. “We have a tough, difficult fight ahead of us. But as a team, we have a goal. And the objective of this year is to win all the belts. If Golovkin has a belt, yes, why not? We’ve given the fans two beautiful fights, two great fights. Why not a third?”

"[A third fight] was something that neither side discussed,” Loeffler said. “Both Eric Gomez [president of Golden Boy Promotions] and I, said that we would worry about the second fight only. Negotiating another clause for the third fight did not make sense. We agreed that whoever wins would decide if a third fight makes sense. There will not be an immediate fight after that.

If there is a third fight, it will not be an immediate trilogy. If Golovkin wins, he will unify the title with Saunders."

Golovkin had different plans than canelo after the rematch, but things didnt go his way...
fighting rolls instead of andrade is what cost him the canelo fight for september...
GGG wanted to unify after canelo, canelo wanted to do the exact same thing...

Triple G having been beaten soundly last time, has no belt. He is no
Different to an unproven contender at this point. Triple G should beat one of the champs then unify. Problem Triple G doesn’t like risks and won’t fight Andrade or IBF guy.

So the judges had it wrong, most fans had it wrong and the boxingscene scorecard had it wrong but you, based on your boxing expertise had it fight, OK :-)

Alvarez also said, in the ring after the 2nd fight "If the fans want a third fight,we can do it". No mention of a belt.
The diva added the belt when he had some time to think whether he really wanted a third fight or not.

he didnt know he was going to get jacobs belt right after the second fight, once jacobs became the target he knew that after that he was one fight away from being undisputed and that was his goal ...
in fact canelo made the statement back in January when GGG was still nowhere to be found, so it had nothing to do with ggg...

His last fight was a win for Canelo, the first fight a draw.

First fight I Scored 7-5 Canelo and was a draw

Second fight I scored 8-4 and it was a Canelo win. Most people even Abel Sanchez I believe agreed Canelo won the rematch’s

Triple G is without a belt coming off the loss. He has no leverage at all.

I didn’t want to misspell the fighters name but didn’t Canelo get stripped for not fighting him?

If Canelo got stripped a possible fight between triple G and the other IBF Derevyachenko I believe should fight for that title. Either that or Triple G should fight Boo Boo.

Until Triple gets a belt, he needs to sit down be quiet and should be ashamed of himself for his acting the last 5 years. Triple G has fought and acted scared like a B I T C H

                      Seems legit
You forgot the part about Pacquiao wanting more meaningful, reward relevant opponents over a rough housing school teacher cheat.
The comparison can't be applied to Canelo because Canelo is avoiding a guy who he lost to once and arguably lost to again in the rematch. From there Canelo isn't seeking out the better meaningful opponents at a weight class he walks around in; 175.
